Er... no... I haven't seen the insides of a tv station or network yet that wasn't running on Avid on the PC. A few FCP systems sprinkled around, sure, but primarily Avid PC.Bionicpix said:You won't find much, if any, PC editing going on in the professional broadcast/film world. Just home users.

Anything that is not a closed system, is a PC.
Ok, I guess it's a terminology thing. Avid can run on WINDOWS as a platform, yes. But I was reading this as PC=personal computer. I was meaning, you won't walk into too many professional environments and find them editing on a Dell with Vegas/Premiere/etc. But you WILL find top flight facilities editing on regular old G5's like anybody has at home in their kitchen with out-of-the-box FCP. Again, go price out that Avid system at the TV station running on a "PC". It's tens of thousands of dollars (Adrenalin system runs around $50k). It's not like they buy a disc and install on their Gateway. Yet the MAC solution is pretty close to that. Again, personally, I love Vegas for my own use. Just saying it's not an industry standard for whatever reason.Barry_Green said:Er... no... I haven't seen the insides of a tv station or network yet that wasn't running on Avid on the PC.
