Seems like the 645Z is shipping now. It can do 1080p24/25/30/60i and 720p24/25/30/60.

There is some sample footage floating around the internet now.

Wow!! Some really beautiful still images!! The video looked nice too of course.

As an oldz, I ain't never riding backwards on a skateboard with an $8,000 camera, hand holding a flash in the other hand ... I have enough trouble walking. :)

Thanks for sharing.

Pretty interesting for an MF digital to hit this price point, with years of good glass available. Pentax really needs to offer a tilt/shift and this would take off for product still shooting.

Unless there's something insanely gorgeous about the video, I dunno. $9k +lens for VBR 21Mbps H.264, no clean HDMI. No SDI. No Raw, no 4K, no 1080-60p. It's like the T2i with a huge sensor.

For video, seems like you might as well buy 4 Blackmagic cinema cameras, 9 pocket cams, or some 5d II's and you'd blow this away.

Unless there's something VERY special about the footage, it's a terrible proposition for video. State-of-the-art stills camera though.

Line skipping probably. I would expect that optimization for video at that sensor size would probably double the price in terms of research and processing power. Not realistic.

Yes party's over. The sensor is 44mm wide (which is closer to fullframe than mf) and it shoots video with a 10% crop, basically, it shoots video in a fullframe crop mode only.

Horrible line skipping, aliasing and moire
Bad lowlight performance and maxes out at 3200
17mbps codec h.246 with a baked in profile
Bad manual controls
outputs 720p only

It's a bad video camera.
