GH4 Panasonic GH5 coming in 2017

I hope the GH5 will have the sensor shift high resolution photo mode (50Mpixels).

I hope also it will show exposure info in video modes. It is not nice to shoot video guessing exposure.

WB kelvin degrees would be also nice to have visible. It would be fun and also educating to see what the camera recommends in auto WB.

Like most video cameras, the GH4 has Zebras, which are a video standard for nailing your exposure.

I doubt that the GH5 will be any different in that regard.

How can a zebra tell you what aperture or iso you are using?

If you have a very low contrast scene without highlights how can a zebra say right exposure?

The GH4 does show ISO and exposure. It is right there at the bottom of the screen.

Because you set the zebras to show you where on the image the exposure is reading according to how you set them, ie whites at 98%, skin tone at 65%, etc.

You did not answer my two questions about aperture and low contrast scenes.

yeah um don't do that. Use manual and then you can see what you need to see. The reason why it doesn't show it is because you are telling the camera you don't care about ISO and aperture because you are using shutter priority. If you want to know than you use manual. That is the point of shutter priority, you are telling the camera I care about shutter speed and just figure out the rest. That is the nature of its existence. Besides why do you need to see it if you want to use auto anyway? If it is a value you don't like you wouldn't be able to do anything about it anyway except for switch to manual. In that case you might as well just use manual.

Why someone wants to see exposure values during taking photos with A or S if he cant do anything because it is auto exposure? Would it be better that all automatic values is hided in photo modes too.

It is easier to setup exposure using automatic. I can lock it with AE-lock if I want it constant. In very rapid situations I have no time to adjust full manual exposure.

180 degree rule has almost no meaning if shooting 60P for TV.

Why is it so bad to use auto exposure. It is many times the best way to achieve best exposure and optimizing the lowest iso for lowest noise.

Not everyone is shooting for cinema. Video can be something else too like sports.

I can get more consistent exposure using automatic in changing light like clouds drifting and blocking sun occasionally.

If I want to expose video in easy and effective way using a consumer camera without ND filter I think you should not be angry about that.

I dont mind if you use old rules.
 
@Vesku...as a matter of interest, what camera does show these values whilst recording in auto modes, and wouldn't these values be sometimes constantly changing ?

Sonys and Canons. They change in photo mode too. They are automatic exposure. The camera tries to keep right exposure.

I'm not angry about a thing, you're using the wrong tool for the job you want to do, buy a proper video camera. Lots of them shoot auto just fine and you can use them anyway you like. GH4 and DSLR's for video are bad choices for what you are trying to do it seems.

I will buy GH5 anyway.

I am just wondering why they have REMOVED exposure value numbers during video recording. The phone app shows them and the video exif shows them. Why not the camera?

It is a difficult way to monitor exposure afterwards in home reading exif files :)

Would you say that I am using a wrong tool for photos if I use A or S with my GH4. Would it be better to buy a cell phone or pocket camera if I dont want to take photos with full manual and with some old exposure rules.
