If it has the Varicam color science, a hybrid for both cinema and ENG productions with built-in ND, good in low light situations with at least 12-13+ stops DR, variable frame rates up to 60-120 fps, I'll be interested. Oh and it must have that, "clicking sound". I need that clicking sound. ;P

So fixed lens IS?

Quick question please, if this new
camera can record in 4k 10bit 4:2:2 25fps
at 400mbs, approximately how many
minutes recording would you get with
a 128gb SDXC card ?
Thanks.

Nothing like trying to backdoor your way into finding out some info, eh?

Tell you what, it's some straightforward math and those specs match what the GH5 will do, so I suspect that if you look around someone will have published such a number somewhere for that camera.

What we do know is that currently the Varicam LT @ AVCIntra 4K 4:2:2 (which is around 400Mbps), will record about 36 minutes to 128GB @ 25fps. So assuming the specs in your post are correct, you'd get about the same on those numbers I'd imagine.

Thanks Noel, hopefully SDXC capacities will expand
to 256 and 512gb soon, although given the current
prices they could be expensive. I'm trying to estimate
the number of cards I will need for an upcoming
project, so this is very useful to know.
Thanks again.

Ha,Ha, not really Mitch, it was actually just a question about capacity. As Noel said at about 36min per 128gb card Dual slots will give approx 1 hour 12min 4k 4:2:2, 400mbs at 25fps. This is really useful to know.
Now hopefully we will see some 256gb and 512gb cards soon. But for the moment it looks like I will need to invest in 4-6 fast 128gb cards.
If this camera is S35 and has most of the specs rumored in this post then I will probably sell my DVX200 and upgrade to this camera along with my GH5.
Now all we need is a good zoom lens for it, and yes now I am really fishing !

128 multiplied 8 to make Gigabits from those gigabytes, diveded by 0.4 Gigabits (400 Megabits) = 2560 seconds or 42 Minutes, 40 Seconds - I guess, if it's really only 36 Minutes then there's either some overhead or it's a bit more than 400 Mbit/s.

there are already 512GB SDXC Cards (and 256 GB) that should be fast enough - although it's €399 for a sandisk one :-)

Ha, ha, you're an old timer with Panasonic to remember "that clicking sound".

Pretty sure that clicking sound means its broken.

Actually, no. Many of the Panasonic fixed lens cameras had a clicking sound from the OIS, nothing broken or wrong with the camera, that's just a sound they made. It kind of became an "in" joke that all of the noobs would ask and all of the Panasonic camera owners would laugh at because they all asked the same questions when they were noobs.

The newish "V" ratings are sustained write times.

V30 – 30MB/sec Write
V60 – 60MB/sec Write
V90 – 90MB/sec Write

These new cards wont drop frames in the class they are in.

So..... The new Panasonic camera will fall under the V90 class :-D
