public service announcement... many of you know this already, but you will want to avoid Chrome when reviewing footage on YouTube. It artificially elevates black levels.

One quick thing to point out is that there are 2 versions of this footage available online with 2 different grades. The initial version posted in this thread was graded by Frédéric Savoir and the other version was graded by the DP of the footage Filippo Chiesa. Filippo’s version has less contrast and less saturation than Frédéric Savoir’s. See below:

Embed the link. How difficult is that?

So much bitterness here. I didn't want to pollute the EVA1 thread with some Varicam video taking the fifth of the page. I just put the link. If I click on it, it sends me to the Varicam footage. I don't know the reason why some can't see it. Maybe you need to be a pro ^^ Anyway .....

i think it‘s a good thing that there are two grades. personally i prefer the more saturated one to see what‘s there. but when you look at facebook, some people seem to have difficulties to to seperate the grade from the camera. makes one wonder why they think they need a €7000 camera anyway.

otoh, it might be a bit confusing having two versions out there - maybe it‘d be better to post the other movies asap to show off the what else you can do with the camera.

Looks like Filippos version is playing faster (25fps?) vs the original grade (24fps?). The plot thickens!
I'm excited about the camera, glad I pre-ordered early...
He also excluded the shot at 1:56 that people had commented on.

You can try to disable the hardware acceleration in the advanced settings of chrome. It worked for me.

Hi Mitch,

A Panasonic rep has stated that your company aims to have 12 Bit RAW 5.7K output through 6G-SDI to Odyssey and Shogun using CDNG files (up to 30fps) in early 2018:

Is this correct? Everything I had read previously about the EVA1 stated only 10 Bit RAW output at 5.7K.

I believe if you disable "Use hardware acceleration when available" it solves this issue Zak.
Preferences>Settings>Advanced>System>Use hardware acceleration when available Off/On.

The forums or Vimeo recently changed something. Vimeo links (non-embedded ones) don't work for a lot of people anymore on DVXuser, BMCuser and REDuser.

Not sure what happened. However, holding command (Mac) and clicking the link works. Weird.

No bitterness from me. I just think that a poster who wants to show a clip should make it easier for others to access it. And embedding it takes two more clicks, as per features enabled by this site.
