hi,
does anyone work with the new P2 Contents Manager for mac ?
its free from panasonic.

i have read on the creative cow, that it should work to drag
and drop clips from p2cms to finalcut (finalcutstudio2).

i have tried it and it does not work.
i have a macpro, macosx 10.4.9. with quicktime 7.1.6.

p2cms need quicktime 7.1.6 and 10.4.10.
i cannot update to 10.4.10 because my usb2go drive
is not recognized then.

could this be the reason, drag and drop isnt working.
how do you manage it.

thx and best regards

You must have 10.4.10. That's what Panasonic says and I would believe them.

Works for me, but the audio is a real pain.

does anyone get the feeling that final cut server might put and end to all of this by allowing advanced P2 import & organization while retaining all metadata and allowing direct MXF editing on the timeline. I sure hope so. right now I use P2 genie to copy & backup, P2 viewer (now P2CMS) to organize and add metadata, and FCP to edit.

when is FCServer going to ship anyway? summer is almost over.

you can drag and drop from P2CMS direkt to finalcutpro ?

why audio is a real pain for you? do you use quicktime 7.6.1 or 7.2 ?

best regards

@dbwolfe:
i think fcserver is for managing clips. it will not change the process
how fcp handle the clips. and quicktime is the hero for apple.
