P2 Rebate Confusion

Panasonic did provide a 30 day price guarantee.

I believe the offer originated on October 31st and was retroactive to Oct 1st

Ok, and that means if people who bought in SEPTEMBER were given a 30 day price gaurantee, they would be eligible.

If I bought my camera in August, I WOULDNT be eligible because my 30 day price gaurantee wouldnt bring me into the promo period.

Simply stated, if anyone who bought their camera in Sept were given a "30 Day price Gaurantee" theyd be eligible for the promo. Since the promo period Started Oct 1.

Cheers:)

You know to make up for their heinous "crimes" against us, we should all receive 32 GB P2 cards in advance and they should allow each of us to direct a televisd commercial for them.

That should make some of us happy :)

The promo period didn't start October 1st though. It started November 1st. There was not a hint of the program, no notice, no releases, no anything about it until November 1st.

They granted a 30-day window that people who bought within the last 30 days would be eligible.

They did exactly what you're asking. You just have your dates wrong as to when the program started.

There are some of us who bought early that were pretty disappointed by a promotion that started so quickly after the cams started shipping in quantity.

I don't believe any of us believed that any "heinous crimes" were committed.

We were mostly a little disappointed -- in part because the early adopters got the word out, did some troubleshooting, etc. - but were left out of the promotion.

That's all.

I dont have the dates wrong, Panasonic (or whoever is in charge of the websites stating the promotion period) does. As its stated, the promo period is from Oct 1 to Mar 31.

And while I have you on the phone Mr Green, let me say thank you for all youve done for the community. I have and read the HVX book you wrote, and found it to be an extremely valuable resource.

Thanks!

But it was announced on November 1st, which made retroactive to Oct 1st.

You want it to be made retroactive to September 1st which would be a 60 days protection period.

That's what Barry and I are saying

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

I DONT want it retro-active to Sept 1st.
Im NOT complaining or thinking Panasonic necessarily did me wrong either.

I bought the camera with no reservations about Panasonic owing me anything further.

If there wasnt some grey area (as expressed by others that bought the cam in September, and thus missed out on the promo by a few weeks, or even days)- you wouldnt even be hearing a peep out of me personally.

However, my post was mostly directed at the people who bought in September, from authorized dealers, and Panasonic.
Look around man, its almost MARCH, and you didnt hear boo from me regarding this.
If consumers that bought in September feel a certain way about it, which I now do, then maybe there is something colectivley we could do (ie write Panny, etc) to plead our "case"

I, like you, and others, make choices about when and where I spend my money or give my loyalty- I LOVE my HVX, and I know if Panasonic heard from some of its customers about their feelings on the matter, then, maybe it would do some good for both sides.
It doesnt matter what the final outcome is, the point is and was, that Pansaonic would have heard from some of its customers on this particular matter.

Thanks for your insight and responses!

I was just kidding with my reply from before. I purchased my camera in May last year and sure I am a little disappointed about the P2 thing, but I don't think it is that big of a deal. I am not accusing the company of anything. They made an excellent camera for a great price. If they give out bonuses to people so be it, the camera is still worth every penny.
