Official pre-order / ship time thread

This is one of those times my DVXuser obsession saved my ass. I'm pretty sure if I had actually gone to sleep, I wouldn't be on any pre-order lists and I'd be FUMING mad.

Thanks to the ChipG, got on that sucker night before official Amazon pre-order announcement. Whew.

And in lieu of it all, I'm gonna go ahead and keep my PreoRder in Japan as well so I can see about picking up another pair of 'em.

You really can't wait around on these things anymore. They're so cheap that everyone can and will buy one, leaving nothing for anyone else to snap up for a very long time.

was amazon body+lens kit available for preorder? or did all preordered the 7d body only?


BTW, the 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens is little useless I think, 44mm wide is worse than any P&S
 
Ughh...stupid Amazon now open for pre-orders but charging tax in my home state of New York :( -- maybe I'll ship it to my parents out of state and have it sent to me...

SO did Amazon had their pre-orders before last night. I am pretty sure I had tried to pre-ordered ir last week and I couldn't.

I just pre-ordered mine.
 
Just preordered mine (Body plus lens) from Amazon. Got the email notification this morning. Can't wait! Hoping the list isnt too long. :)

Nope. Amazon actually just started the preorder again about a day or two ago. Prior to that it, it's been unavailable since the initial preorders were up.

Sp does that mean if you preordered today, then you are actually preordering a "guaranteed" stock they have coming in? Or are you just getting on a wait list?

I don't think anyone can answer that.

There was an Amazon pre-order that went out right after the official Canon announcement 2 weeks ago, then they closed them down about 24 hours later... But now they went back up so wishful thinking would hope that they received news from Canon of their full allocation?
 
I've got 3 pre-orders now... Adorama, J&R, and Amazon. I'm also keeping an eye on B&H. Whoever ships first gets my $$$! :)
 
I preordered from amazon and asked if body will be shipped sooner than kit, this is the amazon response:
"...both will be shipped by nov,16..."

I guess this is the "standard response", two months as the limit to ship preorders.


any idea if body will be shipped sooner than kit? I don't like the 28-135 lens but if I get it 2 or 3 weeks before I don't mind to get the kit.

Seeing that I placed my pre-order with Amazon (kit) 9/1/09 at 8AM, I would hope they ship pre-orders based on a priority by date. :beer:

$200 for the kit lens is stoopid cheap BTW...why not get it?
