Official NextFest Thread

ComedyFest sure would be fun as would be TrailerFest. For Comedy you need good writing and great characters which, like Aram said, needs to be worked on.

I like JDS's idea of Poe fest (or expand it to short story fest) where people adapt stories for their movie. It would show a different facet of how people use their talent.

I second SnuffFest (I already have some I could re-edit).

I don't think PoeFest could work for copyright reasons if we want to shop our shorts around although I guess we would be completely re-imagining a story.

Actually, I think it's fine. Poe's stories are old enough to be public domain at this point, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm kind of hoping for another HorrorFest. Last year's was the first short I did, and it was fun...it could become a tradition every year :-)

or...

2) ComedyFest
3) ActionFest

Kung Fu Fest!!!

This may fall under "Action Fest" but a bit more specific.

...requirement = poor overdubs.

.

FreeForAll fest. Anything & everything. No more excuses for people not to enter. Do anything you want with whatever you want. Perhaps with a category beside the title.

Example-Nyuktuk,Lost culture-documentary.
Example-Sweetheart-British Comedy.
Example-The Hill-Claymation

Let everyone do whatever they want. So how do you vote? Pick the one you liked the best.

/Maybe something in a scene with dvxuser?

Poll?

Action / Comedy / Historic/Medival / DOCTOR

Love the doctor idea, or someone in a profesion.

or

Spoof Fest

Like dub over Speed, Spiderman, Love Actually, turn them into comedies.

Aye, Sorry.. also like the idea of Kholi's Pitch Fest...

Dear god please tell me i spelt his name right =x

I love these threads, they fill up pags so fast.

^ L o L You spelled it right. =P

Pitch Fest would leave it open Genre and add another dimension to the content: seeing the producer(s) pitch the idea as if they were trying to raise interests or funds for a real feature length.

Can we please just enjoy this one before worrying about another fest?

This is me trying to get everything ready for you guys to enjoy this one, and all you can talk about is the next one?

Ok, ok...I understand. I want to know the next one too ... but don't forget there are AdFest entries to judge :)

What about SoapFest, as in Soap Opera? That could be highly entertaining, and leaves it open to all kinds of things. Things exploding, murder, weddings, guns, mistaken identities, twins, shipwrecks ... the list could go on and on.

I think someone mentioned SpoofFest. That could also be a lot of fun.
