That sounds promising! (Again)![]()
As you point out, you live in a free country as does most if not all of the other people on this forum. You've expressed your opinion, they've expressed theirs, they've as much right to it as you. It's not about entitlement- you sound like I am a welfare recipient demanding free food, rent, money, healthcare, etc etc. I am not. I am not saying that I am ENTITLED to anything. What I said was that other companies offer discounts when them do not meet expectations. Whether it be a delay, flickering screen, inop features or whatever. This is the way the real world works - not just in the monitor business. And i gave a perfect example of that with the Movi M5 - they promised a certain date and to keep the deposits longer than expected they gave a 500 dollar credit to those offected. I have already placed my order - and waiting for it to arrive after I personally spoke to reps at CD and was assured when it would come out. and yes, absolutely, when a company promises something and it effects people in any way it is nice, not entitlement for them to take a hit to their profit margin to those who they let down in any shape or form.
Same goes for large purchases like aircraft. If a scheduled delivery is delayed - there is a reflection in price. If the aircraft comes in heavier than promised there is a discount. Same goes for just about everything under the sun. Why do you seem so offended about the suggestion? Do you have a financial interest in the company? I think THEY should make that decision - and I think THEY should consider doing just that for those who are being strung along - or in your case having flickering screens.
This is still a free country, smacking down my ideas like you own the joint is just a power trip on your part. Let them answer me not you. And yes, they should do something for all of us who have committed to buying one, called them for updates and have been let down time and time again. I absolutely am being strung along - if they can't churn them out by a given time they should just say so... and like every business from printing, to raw materials, to steel, to aircraft to textiles to redecorating - you give a deadline and if it's not done on time the buyer should be compensated. Maybe it'll be a discount, maybe it will be a codec, maybe it will be a charger or battery - something for those who they let down, because in the end of the day no matter what you make - it's all about customer service not the product itself that matters. That is why apple is so successful, sure you pay for it, but damn it, they stand behind their product with some amazing service.
