Odyssey Firmware 2015.5

I converted the cube to cdlut, and add to ssd, i saw this result in 7Q preview my old footages.

Build in Luts look normal.

Btw updated my 7Q+ to latest firmware, and tried those features, REALLY GREAT JOB! BUT only one i dislike which is the focus peaking, it is not as good as before, why? i found that if i use colour peaking, those noise will show out the colour peaking as well, so the noise part just full of colour peaking "blink here and there" especially with LUT on, quite distracting and cant show the focus part properly/well. If i use lesser %, it show out a little or even none colour out on the screen for object in focus compare before, i dunno how to describe it, it just won't work quite well for me now. Maybe i missing something or i need try more on it, will see how it go.

Alan,

Try reseting your focus peaking settings. If you click and hold on the Focus button and open its options window and then click on reset. That helped for me because I had modified it so much before this current update. Looks much improved for me! It behaves much like the peaking on the fs700's screen.
 
At first I thought False colors was broken as my entire screen was just red. Then I found the default "low" IRE numbers are all set to 0. Trying to remember my previous settings, all I smell is burnt toast.

So far everything looks good. The colors using the new LUT (sony Slog2 to 709) look vastly improved. Only shooting color chart right now. Will have to do some shooting this weekend!!

Mitch, please thank whoever added the "Volumes" tab in the new ProRes Transfer app. That was a nice surprise.

Downloading now. Approx. 1,5 hour left on downloading 106mb. Are you guys skimping that much on bandwidth?

I guess it makes sense seeing how often these updates come out, but you could think about putting up a release-day torrent, so that we users could download from each other on the day 1 rush.

EDIT: Question, "LUTs viewed during recording noted in XML file metadata" --> i suppose this does not mean that we gained the ability to directly re-assign the monitoring lut to the prores recorded file in our nle (e.g. Amira), correct?

That'd be a killer feature, but throwing a monitoring lut over a whole timeline is no big deal either.

REEDIT: those LC709A slog2 lut is what i've been looking for!

Any idea when the LUT's will be baked in and not monitor only? Downloading the new update now, thanks- this all looks promising.
 
Color looks great. Also glad another color has been added to False Color. Some great new features, thanks CD.

Now, i have to admit i've never used a LUT in my life. Time to dig in, lots to learn!

With Focus Peaking after the update, i seem to get little specs of the selected color flashing all over the image. I turned the color of peaking to Yellow, focused on something in the distance. It does seem to highlight that object in yellow, but it also creates this yellow flashing noise all over the image. Only when the threshold is above 80 or so.

Edit: after playing around with it a bit more, i'm not having much problem with it. it feels different, and using the zoom focus feature seems to change how fine the peaking is. weird at first, but it seems good. an option to turn off the actual flashing of the color might be nice in the future too.
