OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS - starring George Clooney, shot on 35mm!

Hilarious. A truly funny concept, executed extremely well. And after seeing the green screen setup you guys had, I'm surprised that aspect turned out as clean as it did.

Also, this is the only movie of the fest that my wife would watch. And she completely dug it - even let out a gasp when the cone got run over.

Nice work.

Really cute concept! And well executed. Really clean greenscreen work, the illusion is flawless. The two worlds are integrated perfectly.

I thought the transition from "be louder" to "take it down a notch" seemed a little funky. The young one wasn't really being loud enough to warrant that, especially in comparison to the other guy. That whole little section doesn't work as well for me as the other ones do.

But that's just nitpicking. This was really well executed technically, and it was funny with a clever story.

And what a great ending.
 
Very good. I love being taken off guard. Great concept, good script and well thought out. I'm almost done watching and rating films and you got a good grade!
 
Mr. Seth- Wow. Thank you. Yes it was lot more work than we thought, but I'm glad you could enjoy it.

Tom- Much appreciated and glad your wife could watch. yeah.. the greenscreen. Let's just say I was good friends with the edge thinning slider. It was like chopping at it with a machete. It wouldn't have worked if they weren't in-cone.
Fun Fact: At one point the screen caught the wind and almost knocked Andy over. ha ha. that might've been a funny OT. :)

Stinkpot- Really appreciate it, and I've enjoyed your work in these fests too.

Jason- Thanks for the compliments. The issue might be that I compressed the audio too much for the 'web' mix and so the differentiation isn't as big as it could be. I'll have a look at that in the future.

John!- Thanks for stopping by John. My wife and I were like, where's the John LaBonny movie?

Tunnelman- I love being taken off guard too, so when Dan said, "I have this idea about talking road cones..." I was on board instantly. Glad you enjoyed it!
 
Well, I really think it was more the kinds of things he was saying, it just didn't seem like he was overpowering the other guy, but perhaps playing with the volume would help a little.

But it's not a big deal regardless.

What else can I say? Story was hilarious, the actors did a great job...nothing took me out of it. Thanks for making us laugh.

Me too! Last Halloween I won a costume contest at a movie theater, dressed in half Ram, half Vampire, and called it Rampire, and I won a year free pass to the movie theater! If they have the same contest again I was thinking of going as a cone... but I had to sit for 4 hours in the theater, and I'm really wondering how I could do that in a cone, or just walk through the door for that matter. Those things are 7' tall and 4' wide.

Hi Tim. Let me start by saying that before watching I had not seen your thread so knew nothing about what you had done. So yes the first time I saw the cones I laughed and then continued on doing so the whole time.

Not sure who made the actual costumes but great job, easy to identify the new guy, loved the cigarette butt.

It's great that you saw it fresh. It still makes me laugh looking at them in the cones.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was really fun to make too.

Daniel Sparling made the costumes and came up with the idea. Can't give enough credit to him.
 
OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS

Review: The music for this was a tip off to the insanity that was sure to follow, but DAMN! This level of insanity was something that NONE of us could ever predict. Great for a laugh any time of the day. "Get your papers!" And the ending was perfect. You truly are an insane person, always pushingthe boundaries.

Story: What the hell can you say about this story? It's CONES! And it's FUNNY! D I need to get into the whole training day scenario with the new guy resenting the veteran and eventually betraying him? Those are all besides the point and is really just a vehicle for the fact that they're cones and they;re here to stay! So you'd better stay RIGHT!

Technical: Insane greenscreen and costuming.

Acting: Sammy-cone seemed to be looking the wrong place at one point, but he's clueless, so maybe that's part of his character... Good guys for the job though. I believed that they were indeed cones.

WrapUp: You're insane.

You see why there was the secrecy with the thread and poster... so I can come way out of left field and really make it a surprise for 'ya. (also cause we did this last minute and weren't sure we'd make it)

And my Apples Taste Better than Cones campaign didn;t work out so well either. Maybe I shouldn't have poisoned them....
