Nikon User Thread

I think we are getting a little crazy with grabbing other peoples images and editing them. Like that girl for instance, she was spread across 2-3 pages. I think we should let peoples art be the way it is. Now if someone says its OK for you to grab and edit it then it is a different story. But to tell you the truth (totally not in a rude way) I'm getting kind of tired of it. And it's not even my own work.

I don't know. It's just my opinion. I am not pointing this at any one specifically either. So don't jump down my throat!

Well thanks very much. Is a ICC profile some sort of color profile? I guess I should get Photoshop CS3. I keep wishing I could use more of the RAW capabilities of my camera. I actually have a lot of experience with the free photo editing program: GIMP. After I got this camera I realized that I needed to graduate to the next level of software.

First photo from my new Nikon D80 with the kit lens 18-135mm...

What were your apature settings on this, if you don't mind. The DOF is perfect.

I have just gone through and deleted several posts and cleaned this up.

I will remind all that this is a community... we are here to support one another. Part of that support is critique. Do not post an image if you don't want criticism, which may come positive or constructive.

Furthermore, keep your criticism, especially if it is constructive, out of the range of becoming a personal attack as this is a violation of DVXUser Terms and Conditions.

THIS TOPIC WILL NOW BE DROPPED... There is no need to respond to my post, just follow the rules and let's continue to allow this thread which is one of the longest and most popular on this entire site going.

Are you being for real when you said the most popular? Compared to what other threads?

Compared to all other threads in the forum. This is the longest and most viewed thread on the boards.

89k views and 216 pages makes it by far the largest ongoing thread here.

Adam, your post asking about if this was the "most popular" was post #2152.

That's a big thread, and it's a good one too.

Are you being for real when you said the most popular? Compared to what other threads?

The only thread on the site with more views is the Corrado thread in the user films section. This is the longest thread as far as posts and content.

So yes, being for real :)

EDIT:
The Fat Monster thread from TimeFest actually has 2500 posts, so this is the second longest and has the second most posts. That being said, I did say that this thread was

one of the longest and most popular on this entire
versus THE LONGEST and MOST POPULAR

Regardless... continue posting

cheezweezl, all I can say about those photos is:

Damn son, awesome. the perspective on so many of them and the use of a wider angle lens is not only appropriate, but is just downright killer. Well done. The one of the one ilauzirika pointed out is simply amazing. I dunno what to say besides, just wow.

And now it's time for some fun. I give you Aiden's:

First Time Pool Pics

This is Aiden dressed and ready to go. Untouched in Photoshop except to crop and a little curves.

In this one, I think he wasn't sure of what we had gotten him into. Look at the expression on his face. Is that concentraiting on the water, or "Get me the hell outta here?" You decide.

I took these outside of my apartment in rather low light to see how my new D300 would perform. I ran them through DXO to clean up the grain a little. I like DXO and how it can clean up low light pictures. These are 20K in size and the full rez look pretty good.

Matt you sure know how to get your boy Aiden to open those big blue eyes. My oldest son James (he's 23) has blue eyes like this, bright blue. You keep on taking them pictures of him and posting them up, he's a cutie.
