Nikon to Canon lens adapter

I'd actually like to confirm the function of my adapter with someone from Cinevate. I've only been able to use it on my AI lenses, any luck w/ non (pre) AI lenses?

Hey guys, I've just received my "AF confirm" adapter. I bought the cheapest one from Hong Kong.

I actually baught two of them, cause I thought I would leave them one my primes. But I got kind of disappointed when I realised they don't lock on the lens. You just screw them tightly on, and that's it... The good news is: no play! They're tight. But it's easier to leave the adapter on the dslr (that one locks), and switch lenses that way. I'm not too confortable with this solution, as the lens isn't secured, and maybe taking them on and off like that will cause the adapter to get some play with time...
The AF confirm works like a charm. And I actually find it usefull, with video...

So, if anyone knows of a better adapter (one that locks on the glass), let me know...

edit: actually they DO lock on the lens. There's a little pin I didn't see... So, they're perfect!

My cheapie Kawa was like $9 and it locks the lens.

Do you know what other cheapies (or non cheapies) lock the lens? I'm in S.E. Asia at the moment so shipping & customs are more than the adapter, plus I won't be worth returning if there is a problem. The Photodiox seems well made and they ship internationally. Do you know if they lock?

I'm planning to use mostly full manual lenses with the 5D and will operate the camera manually as I would a 35mm Arri. I still use a light meter for example when lighting my sets.

In the case of using Canon auto lenses in HD movie mode;

1. Do the lenses stop down full time to their correct exposure?
2. Would manual lenses be about the same proceedure to work with in this case?

I have 7 adapters I bought off ebay ranging in price from $15-$65. They all lock but have varying amounts of play. I just put a bit of gaff on the inside of the ring on the lens side and there's no play now. It does make the adapter hard to remove but isn't an issue if you have an adapter for every lens.

Which ones do you think are the best value? I agree getting one for every lens is good and plan to do that, but it would be nice to settle on one brand before I buy 5 or 10 of them.

Do you shoot with any all manual lenses? How does the 5D's metering work with the manual aperture lenses since they usually meter wide open and then stop down when exposing?
