This was what I read in the manual that raised flags for me shooting long interviews.
"The Count-Down Display
A count down will be displayed 30 s before movie recording ends
automatically. Depending on shooting conditions, the
timer may appear immediately when movie recording begins.
Note that regardless of the amount of recording time available, live
view will still end automatically when the timer expires.
Wait for the internal circuits to cool before resuming movie recording."
So if you have an HDMI external recorder hooked up, live view doesn't end when the timer expires? Still sounds as if the sensor might be susceptible to overheating on super long takes and I need internal recording as a backup for the Ninja anyway. And if the battery is really only good for 60 minutes or so, that would be an issue as well. DSLRs are great but they are really a square peg trying to fit into a round hole as far as my workflow and job requirements. It's moot point for now, I already bought the C100 as today was the last day for the free battery and free SDXC card promo Canon is having. I know the C100 will be outdated in six months but that's okay. After the GH4 experience, our clients dont like being on the bleeding edge of new gear, they prefer gear that has been established and the C100 with the Atomos Ninja certainly has been proven to work.
