Nikon 105 1.8

How much did you pay for yours and were'd you get it?

Oh boy, this is old glass indeed... have had it since a long long time. Must have been the late 90s?
I've seen prices in neighboring Italy around Eur 400-500 (appx. $520-$650 price range).

I'd keep keh.com under control to see if anything comes up there... ;-)

Cheers,

Paul

Uh - pardon my newby-ness....what does that mean?

Thx

P.

The FOV of the image doesn't change or pulse as you focus.

I will probably just pick up the f/2.5 and save a few bucks...just as sharp across the board, including wide open, and still plenty shallow with decent low light at f/2.5.

OK thx for the explanation!
I agree that having the luxury of setting up your lighting means that you can actually choose your f-stops vs. having to rely on being able to open as wide as you can.

But back then for me it was a question of photo-machismo, strutting them wide pieces of optical glass (how juvenile) :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Hahaha. Oh I've been there. Price vs performance is the new photo-machismo...."oh I got this f/2.5 that's almoooooost as good as the f/1.8....for 1/5th the price."

LOL to that !!
I must admit I do love my 85 f2.0, despite the wimpy aperture :cheesy: :cheesy: ...
