Super Hero All The Way

Super Hero All The Way

Score! Zombies, Sci-Fi, Super Heroes. I believe we'd have an internet nerd trifecta. Awesome. Can mine have robotic ninja monkey pirates? :D

Maybe its time for an open competition. Except, maybe a required prop. (and of course, the time limit.)

I swear I didn't see that as I was typing my reply - so that means we both had similar ideas come to us from the ether at the same time! Magic!

If you guys wind up picking musical I swear I will shoot myself.
It'll wind up being the first musical snuff film.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha! That was so funny I nearly fell off my chair.

I actually think the prop idea is brilliant, say that you have to use something like a remote control or a tripod or something just funky. I think that is actually a brilliant idea because we'll get a ton of genre stuff but really no limits. That's a good idea.

I recently wrote a short play for a local theatre event called "24 Hours". It started at 8PM on a Friday night, and 6 writers, 6 directors and 18 actors (wearing a costume and carrying a prop) showed up and and names were drawn from hats to randomly pair them up. The writers were challenged to write for the 3 actors whose names were drawn with their's and to utilize the three props in the story. At 8AM the next day, we handed the scripts over to the Director and Actors, and each team had until 8PM to put it all together. It was a great showcase.

I know that you want to choose a category based on getting people's involvement to be high, but what about putting an added element to it - such as a list of things that must be contained in the story?

international there are two events already the 48 hour film festival and the 72 hour film festival which do that.

there have been a lot of good ideas, and i think a designated prop would be really cool. it would be great to see how everyone uses it differently.

no matter what it is, i'm sure someone would end up getting killed by it...

What if you just make your own genre....but the story..and filming and stuff like that have to fall under certain strict guidelines?

or would that cause too much debates whether or not something is or isnt acceptable...?

I think that might reduce the number of willing participants, depending on the 'strict guidelines'. May end up watching the same movie 30 or 40 times.....IF it got past the debate phase of shenanigans around this place. :D

true true...

well...wat about this....we dont limit to just one genre..we pick like 3 totally different ones. and just go from there.

I'll add my secret vote into the urn in support of Super-Fest.

- Mikko ... oh right, secret..

No fair! You already fly! :D

Its a bird! Its a plane! Its Mikko-Man and the Steadi-Cam!

SHUSH! You are giving away all my shot ideas!

- Mikko ... goes off to roll up the green screen.

EDIT: Oh I have a really good idea for this fest, credit to thartley. But I'm only dooing it for the fest - if it happens!

My vote is for the 'SuperHero' fest.

It's real flexible, you can do comedy, action, drama, whatever style you want. It also has high potential for creating 'character driven' films.

I don't know about anyone else, but personally I'm all about a Zombiefest Redux...

That got a ton of entries and I think there was a massive buzz around it. The scifest had a good buzz, but nothing awakes the dead like zombies :)
YEP IT'S A GOOD TIME TO BE A FLY,:D KAY
