I'm sold on Super-Fest for the
next one, but Nostalgia could
definitely be "on deck" in my book.

I guess a love story is out of the question right? Not romantic comedy, but a love story, big difference. Even if there's no gun battles, skulls splashing, clowns dancing like the other genres.. atleast were guranteed to see some hot looking chicks in all the films.. and that my friend will not get boring.

And for the female DVxer's I know ya would appreciate a good love story.

And as far as title for the Fest.. I'm leaning towards.. "DVX Got Heart"

Not a bad idea at all. I don't know why every contest has to have zombies, aliens, and superheroes.

I don't think it's a bad idea at all! Imagine the cross genre love stories! Zombie love , Alien love, Noir, Crime, Action ...

And your name prompted another idea: "DVX Got Game: Sports Shorts" i.e. Everything from Rocky-esque to Chariots of Fire

I don't know about anyone else, but personally I'm all about a Zombiefest Redux...

That got a ton of entries and I think there was a massive buzz around it. The scifest had a good buzz, but nothing awakes the dead like zombies :)
 
I recently wrote a short play for a local theatre event called "24 Hours". It started at 8PM on a Friday night, and 6 writers, 6 directors and 18 actors (wearing a costume and carrying a prop) showed up and and names were drawn from hats to randomly pair them up. The writers were challenged to write for the 3 actors whose names were drawn with their's and to utilize the three props in the story. At 8AM the next day, we handed the scripts over to the Director and Actors, and each team had until 8PM to put it all together. It was a great showcase.

I know that you want to choose a category based on getting people's involvement to be high, but what about putting an added element to it - such as a list of things that must be contained in the story?
