Sony have a bottom plate to mount rods onto the FS7 and by the looks of it the lens mount on the FS7 is to high to end up at 85mm lens to rod distance as is the standard. Maybe the Sony bottom plate/rods adapter involves a modification of the bottom of the FS7?
This is interesting, but let's wait until the camera really is in one of our hands.
I just preordered one...![]()
I agree with you about 28-135 . Personally I think it was a mistake on their part if video people was their primary market.
Put an EF m and let it work with speed booster and I'd be down in a second.
So that leaves the Sony 18-105 ESLP with instant correction, the Zeiss 16-70, or the Canon 24-105 w speed booster which amounts (I think) to a 16-105 at f2.8.
i think they all have stabilization (which is the big deal for me) and the 18-105 has power zoom and AF if needed . The big question is how do they look and how sharp are they? Have to try out all 3 I guess.
It looks like only two lenses for now. The 18-105 and 16-50pz that do barrel correction in HD only. It'll shoot 4K but no correction applied.Hmm.... Where did you read that those lenses only work in HD?
That's a big limitation.
Juan Martinez told me the limitation of the 18-105 was that instant correction didn't work in HDR over 60fps and not in RAW.

Yes. The FS100/FS700 don't have software in camera to correct for barrel distortion. Any lens that work on these cameras will work in 4K.What about the 18-200 ? That doesn't need lens correction does it? Should work in 4K?

I've seen the number $1200. Home I'm wrong....I believe the Sony rod support solution for the FS7 will list for about $500.
