Ya, I meant the latest Pentax.
Data wrangling is an interesting issue. Even 3:1 compressed Raw will be around 3 TB/hr in 8K. HEVC can really shrink that but there would have to be a pro version of the codec, far beyond of what you saw in NX1. The other perspective comes from all these new SSD technologies such as 3D X-Point that Intel and Micron announced recently. It should go into production in 2016 but what if it's really manufactured by Black Magic Design and won't hit the store shelves until 2018.
OK, I kid with the BMD. Here's more on 3D X-point- http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-micron-3d-xpoint-updates,4286.html
PS. That Canon 8K prototype had four Q7+ connected to it, reminiscent of the way that old JVC camera (Q10, was it not?) recorded its 4K signal - via four separate 1080p streams. Mitch won't spill the beans - now should he - but obviously there are the short-term projects and the long term projects. I figure the single body Q8K is somewhere in between.
