I guess the same. 4K Varicam is a name with weight. We can't forget F900 and Varicam were 'the ref' for years! They announced the 4k Varicam - that makes at least one right? I suspect it will price in epic territory.

All of the current "new" 4k cameras need external recorders. Not exactly what I want in a 4k camera. I trust Panasonic to do it right with the 4k Varicam with on board recording.
If Panasonic is such a good broadcast camera company
AC160A and AC130A; upgrades available to AC160 and AC130.
Is this really true? Where are the details??

Either they use a Sony S35mm sensor for future products, or they will take the (long) time to develop their own.
You are joking right? A Sony sensor in a Panasonic camera?
I guess I'm in the minority that doesn't give a rats-a$$ about 4K and patient enough to wait for better color space and DR for less than Canon Hollywood prices. I also really don't believe that the minute difference between s35 format and 4/3 sensors makes any practical difference in achieving anything. If Panasonic goes to a S35 sensor camera its going to be to support PL mount lenses, not because the sensor needs to be bigger to do 4K.
I think I may go down the FS100/FS700/F3/F5 path from here on in...
