New GH1 deal!

I am also wondering about the authenticity of the $200 rebate from Samy's. Does it apply to any dealer of the GH1 or just Samy's? For instance can i apply it to the B&H package that includes the 20mm 1.7 lense? If you could, it would only be $1239, which is an amazing price.
 
I think it only applies to Samy's. I just bought the GH1 with 14 to 140 and Lumix 20 for $1439 at B&H. On the receipt it shows $200 instant rebate, so I assume that is the same rebate as Samy's mail in. I called B&H and they had no other info on any mail in rebates. I may print out and mail in the form from Samy's and see what happens - worst case nothing, but hey - maybe they'll send me $200...

I ordered my cam at Amazon on Monday and Just got my Camera today too. I read this yesterday and I'm banging my head right now.
 
I ordered the 14-140 and 20mm package Friday and noticed that the promotions end May 1.

Having paid attention to online pricing for awhile, time-limited instant rebates and so forth very often foreshadow a permanent price drop. This in turn often foreshadows a new model announcement in the next weeks or months.

With the B&H promotions, you could sell your new 20mm on Ebay at the lowest going rate and own the GH1 kit for $1075. Given prevailing prices for the 14-140 lens, that gives you a real-world valuation of just about $400 for the GH1 body.

Anyway, I'm obviously speculating, but I'd guess the Gh2 will drop in the next four months or so, with real-world availability somewhere around the Holidays.

Mainly, though: thanks to Ben_B for saving me some money...
