Sony will very soon cure population of the world from the disease called "owning-a-camerasis" by a cure named "new-camera-every-monthsis". To get them going people will have to take light medication "rentsis".

I'll be at IBC this year.

I'll tell them to sort out shortcomings of existing models first.
Besides having no LUT/waveform combo, the slow IRIS reaction
and the overull sluggishness of operation is really bad.
I save my FS100, where speed of operation is more important than
dynamic range and 10bit...

Please SONY... not again!

Full frame . Multi crop modes . Great auto focus . Fixed 28-135 lens . No sdi .
slog yes . Maybe no nds ,very fast

I think the smart money lies in Sony beating up the C100 - give this 'FS1' the same FS7 sensor, XAVC-I 10-bit 4:2:2, 4k to 30fps, 2k to 60fps and price it in the C100 realm and Sony will absolutely clean up.

Here is my guess... I remember a lot of people were surprised with the release of the FS7 and how much it offered for such a low price on release. Let's go crazy.

Body - like the FS7, just smaller... a mini FS7
A7 Series FF Sensor (hoping for Super 35 though)
4K 420 XAVC L (maybe 422 XAVC-L)
1080p 422 XAVC I / L
SLOG 3 AND Custom modes (HG, STD, SLOG2/3)
4K 60 FPS /// 1080p 120 FPS
2-3 ND filters
4K 12bit RAW out via paid firmware update similar to the FS700 (keeping it small, no XDCA extension unit) ($500-$1000)
Price: $5000

To be honest, this is probably still too conservative.

I agree this is the most likely scenario. Canon keeping C100MKII with such reserved specs leaves lots of wide open room to scoop up the lower end of the cinema market. Canon has to be at least another year or two away from a lower end 4K cinema camera.

I think they can go two ways.. a tool or a toy...
They'll have both but the three cameras "profiled" in that Twitter pic are all E-mount ILC (A7, FS100, FS7), so this should also be an E-mount ILC. My opinion is that a DVX200/XC10 type cam will be lower priced at ~ $2,500 and will be based on R10MKII, with a 1" BSI sensor and a bunch of features for the run&gun work.

So, what can they do with an E-mount without blowing up the FS7 sales (although, their executives are obviously aware of the competitors product and might not be afraid to load it up with specs... they have certainly done it with A7RII)? I say, s35 sensor, S-Log2, ND's, XAVC-L, 8-bit internal, 10-bit external via HDMI.

Or something like that.

1D X MKII is allegedly already out in testers hands and, while it may be styled as a hybrid cam, a lot of people just might like the Canon look more.

And with 10bt and slog3 "sony look" is a thing from the past. Nothing to look on Canon side besides I guess AF.

All i know is that im damn glad ive already sold my FS700. Value may or may not plummet (even more).

FS7 does all i want it to do except some small quirks like waveform and lut, and shutterspeed going to 25 all the time when changing recording mode.

This is what I'm thinking but XAVC-S instead. XAVC-L/I is their pro codec, XDCAM family (PXW/PMW). This cam should be the FS100 replacement.
