New Egg vs. Tiger Direct

I have used both for years. Newegg has a better % of customer satisfaction from what I have heard, but I have never had any issues with either store.

If I had to make a serious purchase, it would be New Egg even if it had a slightly higher price because they will return about anything without hassle.

Companies, like products, are best thought of as being a certain percentage reliable. For instance, a certain percent of electronics will simply be broken when it arrives, or break soon after. The better the company, the lower chance you will receive a broken product. The same goes for customer service; you might receive great customer service from a con-man, but the chance is very low.
 
Customer service is great at both, but I pretty much always stick with New Egg. They seem more on top of things to me, and their RMA process is easy to deal with. For most things I've also found them to be less expensive for the same product. And I like their website a lot more.
 
Another +1 for newegg. I've received a number of items shipped free of charge. I also prefer their shipping options. They seem on top of it.
 
+1 for NewEgg - they don't like to charge people in Alaska and Hawaii $40 bucks to ship an SDHC card like Tiger Direct does!

I'm in GA and NewEgg ships most of their stock from CA. Still, I usually have it within 3 days of ordering and the shipping is either free or dirt cheap on most things.

As others have mentioned, the RMA process is great as well.

And even if another store has a slightly lower price, I usually still order from NewEgg. Easier to use website, more user reviews, faster shipping, lower likelihood of BS if something goes wrong.

I feel basically the same way about B&H, and only usually price shop between the two of them when there's an item available from both stores.
 
+1 for newegg.

i've had some hassles with tigerdirect and had to send stuff back that was broken and dealing with customer service was not much fun.
 
I prefer NewEgg, but I've never had any problems with Tiger Direct. I ordered a dvd burner from tiger direct, and it was stolen. I lived in an apartment complex, and my neighbor signed for it. He left the box sitting on top of the mailboxes, not thinking about it. And when I finally got home it was gone. Tiger Direct replaced it free of charge. So that was cool.

The only reason I like newegg better is because their website is easier to navigate and their product reviews seem to be more open and honest.
 
+1 New EgG - Stuff comes fast! Have made several purchases from them over the last 5 years and every time a solid experience.
 
I have been disappointed that New Egg does not take phone orders and refuse to answer product question. They refer you to the manufacturer.
