New Canon DSLR's

I´ve some high hopes for these new canons. I ditched my d90 on ebay a few days ago (only body) - luckily, it fetched a good price. If no one of these new canon dslrs has 24p (25p) it would be disappointing. So, lets wait + see...

Hopefully Canon is still drunk off the good vibes of customer satisfaction they received from the Mark2's manual upgrade -
And they give us exactly what we want with the (7d?)

I'm really excited about this announcement!

latest from canonrumors-

7D Design Goals

The Lord of Darkness
- Speed (Apparently this may have the highest FPS of any DSLR ever)
- Dual Processors and Card Slots
- HD Video
- Articulating Screen
- Pro Style AF System
- Much Better LiveView Autofocus
- Noise Control
- Increased Dynamic Range

flip out LCD how cool would that be, just hope it isn't one made for taking shots of your feet like the stupid nikon one.

"Probably about $3000 US."

You can probably add another grand to that price...The 5d2 is $2700 body only right now. And, still very tough to get the Mk2. I'm curious as to what the availability will be initially....even by the holidays. Obviously, with the length of time that's gone by without a 1d upgrade....and football season "Kicking Off" in another 2 weeks, it's going to be in HUGE demand! I'm wondering when those of us "average peeps" will be able to get our hands on one:)

Squig, I'd probably hang on to that 5d2 for a bit;) Might be a little bit of a wait on these new bodies. But, then again, maybe that's why it's been tough to get the 5d....holding back production with the new batch of bodies and imminent lens updates....(24-70/2.8II is, 70-200/2.8 HIS, etc:))

This is going to be an exciting time for Canon owners and the Indi crowd, myself included.

Now they're saying the 1D won't be out until early next year.

I won't be selling until I get my hands on the new body......I learnt my lesson, I won't be camera-less again......unless my film really sux and I run out of money and can't feed the kids.

IIRC, the 1D was initially in the $4-4.5k range when it was first released in 2007.

I'm getting slightly pumped about the 7D...

After shooting with full frame and 1.5x crop I think 1.5/1.6x crop is a better option for filmmaking, I really want to be able to open up my lenses to the light without too shallow DOF so it could be very cool, and dual processors what's not to like.

Canon EOS 7D
- Dual DIGIC 4
- Built in Flash Master (Goodbye ST-E2)
- Full HD Video
- APS-C (1.6 Crop)
- Non Articulating LCD

Man I hope you're right about the price Matthew

"Probably about $3000 US."

You can probably add another grand to that price...T...

No, its an aps-c sensor and not a ff. I guess the price will be around 2000,- (us-dollar or euro, doesnt matter). How things look to me now we´ll only see 1 new camera - 7d?.

The 60D will be moved back to a 18 month product cycle and will be released with a 1D4 upgrade in February

Yeah $1500-2000 for a crop sensor would be the ballpark, keep in mind this is meant to be a D300s killer and looking at the pathetic D300s d-movie specs it's a no brainer.

If it is $2000 then I think that's cutting it too close to the 5D Mark II. Right now you can get a brand new 5D Mark II for around $2200 with 15% Bing cashback. It would have to have phenomenal video quality with multiple framerates and better handling of the video stream.

hey scarlet is real......a real brochure....and a real empty box

and you can get one real soon

To save you all some time from reading asinine or redundant comments on their page...

18 MP
Dual Digic 4
8 fps
19 AF points all cross type
ISO 6400
3 in LCD
Video
APs-C
Electronic leveler
63 zone metering

I hope they've got 24P in the mix. Knowing Canon they won't do it, but that would make things real interesting.

How much you want to bet it's just 30P? Or worse, another weird framerate like 22P? ;)
