Need some help deciding on a wider lens.

Hey guys, I'm shooting mostly video and timelapse with a T3i and so far this is my lens collection...

Nikkor 24mm f2.8
Olympus 28mm f3.5
Nikkor-O 35mm f2
Super Takumar 50mm f1.4
SMC Super Takumar 55mm f1.8

As far as focal lengths go, I'm pleased with the 55 being the longest, I don't really need anything longer than that.

I would like a wider lens that will actually still be wide with the crop, meaning it is going to have to be pretty wide.

I would like to stay with the vintage lenses, or at least a cheaper lens, I'm on a budget and wouldn't want to spend too much over $300.

Some lenses I have been looking at....

Samyang 14mm f2.8
Lentar 21mm f3.8
Zenitar 16mm f2.8

I've heard good things about the samyang, but it is also the most expensive. I've heard mixed reviews on the zenitar, and the lentar is there because it's just so cheap, not a fan of how slow it is, though. Also, all of these lenses would be cropped on the T3i, correct?

Likely more than you want to spend, but I would suggest you try shooting with the Tokina 11-16 to see how you like it, and if so then...
 
I have heard many praises of the Tokina, unfortunately I just can't afford that. Is the Tokina cropped? Because I don't want a super wide fish eye, I'm looking for a lens that would be somewhere in the 20-30mm range with the crop. If it is cropped I might just have to save up some more and go for it.

Also, are the slr magic hyper primes any good?

Yes, I understand that. What I am asking is if the Tokina will be cropped on my T3i. I could be wrong but I thought some companies made lenses for different sensor sizes and I'm not familiar with Tokina lenses. If I'm completely wrong and every lens has a crop factor on the T3i, please ignore my stupidity.
 
I think the words you're looking for are whether it will cover the sensor. I don't know, someone else will have to provide the answer.
 
One more suggestion for the tokina 11-16... you won't look back once you get it :Drogar-Happy(DBG):

the samyang does have some distortion... but that's good or bad depending on what you're going to shoot: the tokina has nearly no distortion, and this makes it great for shooting architecture, but precisely because of this reason people will look distorted when they are on the sides of the frame; "no distotion" is good for shooting architecture, bad for shooting people; more in the comments about the samyang 14mm here: http://www.similaar.com/foto/equipment/us_lensc.html#samyang
 
Thanks for all the info guys, I think I'm going to end up getting the Samyang 14mm. From what I've read it seems great for the price. Some vignetting on full frame but I don't have to worry about that as much.

Tell me what you think about it mate. I'm thinking of getting that lens myself. Just so you know, I do have the Tokina and it is everything I wanted...except it's not manual. That was the reason why I sold it.

well hot diggity, I'll love to spend $80 every time I switch camera. In all seriousness however, that seems like a good option if some one are stuck on Canon glass. Do they have more mounts or only canon to m43?
