Nab 2016

On the upside.... I suppose these means odds are high within 18months we'll see a significant price reduction on the URSA Mini 4.6K??

Which is why I never pre-order a camera these days, and generally wait up to two years after a camera's release. Paradoxically, not only does the camera become more affordable, but it also becomes more reliable as it takes just that long for a company to iron out all the bugs. All cameras these days seem to be half finished before then.

As far as we're aware are Canon anticipated to announce a C500 mkII at NAB this year, or not?

I haven't heard anything solid about a C500 mk2, only that it will be an 8K camera coming 'one day.' C100 mk3 is a strong possibility, as would a 1DC mk2 or video oriented 5D mk4. I don't think Canon is looking at getting into the higher end cinema game.

I thought the consensus was that there was not even a hint of a rumour of a 1Dc mkII.

Canon made their announcement for the NAB. Unless, there are yet to be revealed secrets between now and then, their lineup is the 8K prototype and pretty much nothing else. No 1D C MKII. No EOS 5D MKIV. No C500 MKII.

Rumors are that 5D IV may be unveiled at PhotoKina in September.

I would be happy if they add C-Log to the 1DXII. Not expecting it though. I'm not sure I can remember a time when Canon has given a cool feature like that after releasing the spec sheet. No high hopes for surprises coming from Canon...though it would be welcomed.

I was thinking more consumer-based surprises, but I would be thrilled with C-Log for the 1DX Mark II.

"Existing, with a few surprises".

C-Log addition to 1D XII would qualify, I guess. So would a Rob Halford Signature Leather carrying case. One can always hope for more but, in Canon's case, it's more prudent to expect less.

I'd be happy with either c-log for the 1DX mkII or 4K 60p for the Canon C300 mkII or both.

Could be a pretty boring NAB this year...

I'm afraid you're right..

Does someone know if Arri will showcase an Alexa mini 2 this year? Or if they'll drop their price? The Red Scarlet Weapon plays in the same league at a much more friendly price, come on Arri..

The next week is the last full week before the NAB. A lot of announcements usually come out during this time frame.

Of course, not much has come out so far.
