There's not even an inkling of a smidgen of a rumor on that one.
And new rumors should be popping up every day now.
Boys, I'm tellin ya. . .Canon ENG cams are coming. They have rebates on the XF105, XF300, etc. etc. The whole line.
C500 MKII (however labeled) and 5D MKIV/C/X (however labeled). 1D XII is about to ship and the long time observers think that Canon will not interfere with its launch by making other announcements. What rumours have we heard?
Unless they are 4k and as light sensitive as the PX270/PX230 what is the point? The Panasonic is the ultimate 1/3" chip camera imho. No need to wait for Canon to be a year late and a $1,000 more.![]()

PS. They did release a new T6 today - $550 w/kit lens. 18 MPX, no 4K.
The pros knows ... ergh, know, but they ain't talking ... NDA's and what not ... most announcements will come out shortly before the event... Any other decent rumours on other manufacturers?
We (I) really need a small 4K recorder. This was mentioned before, but a ninja star or something the size of an iphone that's lightweight would be so great.
Edit: Meant to say star, not blade.
Me too!Would love a 7Q Mini.
I can't find the "official source" for this, so I am relying on a post off a different forum and my memory, but nonetheless ... the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) rates all cameras for suitability, according to the various standards. It's just released its 2016 rankings and, for UHD Tier 1, there are only three cameras deemed fit - F65, Alexa65 and Red Weapon. Red Epic, F55, C300 MKII (Varicam LT?) fall into the second tier.
If anyone has more info, feel free to fill in the gaps.
Alexa65 and F65 have a 4:2:2 4K, 17.6 MPX (8.8 + 4.4 + 4.4).http://www.newsshooter.com/2016/02/...ebu-tier-1-standard-for-hd-and-tier-2-for-4k/
Most interesting part of the report is noise differences between the Alexa and C300ii.
4K sensors don't debayer into 4k resolution, which is the requirement for Teir 1 UDH. I think it requires 20% more pixels, at least. Arri used a 2.8K sensor for true 2K resolution, which to me makes it a bit ironic that they now have to defend their 'mild' upscaling to 4K. At the very least, they do have a what is probably the best true 4K sensor with the Alexa65.
Would love a 7Q Mini.

Oddly enough, the highest overaampling is from a $1,000 A6300, which uses 20 MPX (RGB would be 26.4). Of course, A6300 also has a horrendous rolling shutter because the processing/buffer don't catch up with all those pixels.
im not here to do the flame war thing. im just saying i believe theyre coming out. i would think they would be 4k, no? are folks still releasing hd-only cams this year?
