Micro 4/3rds explained???

Could someone take a brief moment and direct me to a link with an explanation of micro 4/3rds... Is this in comparison to a full frame camera or a crop sensor? Are we talking about not as much coverage in a frame and not as good in low light?

In visual terms, the difference between m4/3 and Super 35 seems to be huge. But they're right! Cuz you can't call canon APS-C or even Sony sensors "S35mm sized" and be accurate.
Interesting chart, way to go Abelcine for completely leaving out S16mm!
Oh well, sign of the times.

I think the Micro 4/3rd spec is wrong.
It states that the sensor size is 18.8mm x 10.6mm.
No, it's pretty much correct. That size is for video. For stills, the image size is 17.3 x 13.5 for 4:3, and 18.9-ish x 10.7-ish for 16:9 video.

Everything I've read suggests that it is 22.5mm x 13.5mm as it takes full advantage of the image circle.
You're not reading that correctly. It's using a wide sensor, but the 22.5mm you're referencing is the image diagonal, not the width.
