The shoot went incredibly well, I thought (and hopefully Drew feels the same).
We had some hurdles to overcome, as any shoot does - but I have to say, Drew had everything under control and was incredibly well prepared.
And anytime things may not have gone exactly according to plan, he adjusted accordingly and never lost his drive or his cool.
He is a force to be reckoned with.

I can't wait to see this come together.

I appreciate the fact that you left out my midday breakdown that involved tears and thrown C47s.

To elaborate on the "hurdles to overcome" Luis speaks of... We had planned on having a crew of six, but with a couple no-shows and one sick crew member, there were only three. The boom operator, who was a friend of mine, got word from his parents that he had to go home after the first location... so for a scene that involved Steadicam, day for night, and dialogue, it was just Luis and me.

It all went well though, thanks to Luis. He managed to run the technical side of the shoot, while still offering me great advice when I didn't know what would work best on the creative end.

Now, hopefully I can edit this and still keep up with school.

Hey Drew....Glad you made it! I'm really looking forward to another great film from you.
Welcome.

Nice looking shots. Sorry to hear about your problems with crew, but with Luis there I'm sure you were covered. You still got it done and that's the important thing.

Hey, looks really interesting Drew! Glad to see another Austinite entering the fest. Good Luck!

Yikes.

Justin Kuhn was going to be editing the project, and I sent him the footage a little over a week ago in the mail... and after him still not receiving it, we realized that we had exchanged the wrong address.

I'm going to be trying to edit this all day tomorrow and still get it in for the upload. Wish me luck. :)

Well, I always had my idea of the edit in my mind, but it's nice to have another person who can try to make something better. Usually the best work comes from collaboration, and I had never collaborated really with editing before. I was going to see how this went and wanted to try not to "wear too many hats."

Drew said editing was the one thing he didn't like doing. As it happens, editing is the source of all of my power--such as it is--and I mentioned this to Drew. I also bugged him inccessently about editing his next project. But I sent the e-mail with my address in it really super late at night, and my dumb ass didn't double check that e-mail until it was too late to do anything about it. So as it is I'm just advising, I guess.
