T2i Magic Lantern for 550D in progress!

Did you copy over the new cropmark folder and throw away the old cropmark .bmp's off of your card? I have flickering in the menu too.

did a search for this but might be a bad searcher -

anyway, installed ML and cant seem to change ISO, shutter speed or aperture the traditional way. was able to change ISO in the ML menu but shutter speed wont change.

any ideas? am i missing something?

thanks!

Hi.

Did you upgrade to 1.0.9 before installing ML?

I'll bet you did.

So start up your camera and press the MENU button.

Now on the 2nd movie menu, set "Movie Exposure" back to "Manual".

It was reset to "Auto" when you upgraded to 1.0.9.

Son of a biscuit.. Thanks!

I'm not one to test alpha stuff very often, but I had to try this focus peaking thing, so I installed the 16-jan build, and WOW, what an amazing feature!!

short of 5x and 10x zoom while recording, which seems to be unfeasible, this feature is the best anyone could ask for

now, let's give something back to the community...

* if anybody is wondering (I was), focus peaking works even on my 50yr old manual focus lenses (I thought this might be just for autofocus lenses; playing with it, now I see -more or less- how it is done)

* cropmarks: I didn't really like the ones that were available for the 550D, so I created one that fits my needs: it is as un-bloated as I could make it, and it is drawn in white:

* bugs: the new font and the fast zebras are nice, but the display seems buggier than it was before, lots of stuff get stuck there, or are erased (I used two-pixel horizontal lines on the cropmark because of this: one of the lines gets erased as soon as the zebras kick in); half-pressing the shutter restores everything, even while recording, but sometimes not everything will redraw well afterwards; in one instance, the "recording" red dot at the top right corner wasn't redrawn; I still thought the camera was recording (and it was) but I was puzzled for a short while

heading to the donation page again...

Just found this bug and almost fixed it. I'm still working at the other redraw bugs.

The cropmark looks very clean, can I include it in ML zip? Thanks.

Alex, many thanks for your incredible work. I just sent in my donation!

I used this download:
magiclantern-2011Jan22.550d.fw109.NoAudioMon.silent_hires+hdmifix.alex.zip

It works great!

Can anyone respond on the interpretation of the audio meters. There is a meter bar, and then above it what looks like a peak representation. However, this peak is quite a bit higher than the bar, and goes red before the bar does.

Thanks, I've just received it :)

The bars are the average audio level (over the last few milliseconds) and the peak is the max value (that's why it goes higher). The peak value has also some exponential decay. When setting the volume, I'm setting it such as the peak values are yellow (or sometimes green). In this way, if the voice goes louder suddenly, there will be no clipping.

Another way to protect against clipping is to use different volumes on left and right channel.

What is the latest build for the 60d?
I know you guys are having a hard time, but I still want to thank you guys for your hard work and effort!
You guys are really helping students and indie-filmmakers out with your software!

I haven't really got a lot of money, but in the future I will donate some!

I love the new cinemascope bars! (How they are bars and not just lines)

Is it possible to set it up so that it records in this way? That way less data is going to the sensor so we can get more recording time.
