T2i Magic Lantern for 550D in progress!

I do not have a grip. Im looking into the t2i vs the 60d. I am going to be shooting a doc so Ill need to run about 8 times in a row max on shoots. Ill also be shooting allot this summer.

I was on a shoot that was about 4 hrs of the camera being on and recording, I got the overheating warning twice and I was using a battery grip.
ML adds to the overheating issue because there is more stuff running, ie Audio meters and everything else that is displayed.
Two 5 minute time outs wasnt so bad, but you just have to keep it in mind. Also shutting off lights when not in use or removing the camera from heat sources is a good idea.

This is the one I have installed: magiclantern-2011Jan16.550d.fw109.AudioMon.focus+zebra.alex. I have tested both focus peaking and audio monitoring. They both work. Make sure you plug in the cable after you have powered up the camera.

^ do you get a hissing sound when monitoring? I ended up gettin canon cable -> RCA female adapter -> Rca to 1/8 -> 1/8 female adapter -> headphones. Is that too much?

This might be your card ,not camera overheating. It might be too slow and barely enough for video.Try faster cards, read transfer rate on box.
Also interesting thing is that in 1280x720P mode real resolution is 1280x580 ,Alex decoded it and it doesnt even have 16:9 aspec ratio,Canon probably upscales that to 1280x720.Thats why we have so visible aliasing.

@Kastro -- That cable configuration is exactly what I'm using. I think that's about the only route right now. I get a hissing sound when monitoring as well, although the hiss is not being recorded. The audio is recorded remarkably clean now that we can disable the AGC. Not sure if the hiss could be caused by some setting in the Magic Lantern file that needs to be tweaked. Or perhaps the audio levels that are required to be sent via the composite cable are much lower than what is required for monitoring, so the level is artificially boosted causing the hiss. Not sure. Perhaps Alex or someone else from the development team could comment on this.

I still haven't gotten an answer to my question from a few days ago:

1. Is there a single place where each build is described esp including any normal functions on the camera that it overrides or eliminates?

2. Do either of the current Jan 16th builds kill the HDMI picture out?

3. Why do we have builds with and without audio monitoring? Is that because it overides the normal video/audio functions on mini connector?

2 All builds labled AudioMon kills HDMI and so called hot plug events, HDMI will work on NoAudioMon builds, for now that is. They are working to get HDMI and audio mon in the same build.
