For file numbering, you can use "File Numbering -> Manual Reset" from Canon menu, Wrench 1.
that one only allows me to reset, so that the next number is 0001
I've been playing with it a bit, and it has some nasty issues... which I think I can play to my advantage
if e.g. 0003 already exists in the card and I reset the numbering, it creates a new folder (100CANON, 101CANON, 102CANON, etc) and starts there from 0001 (on the camera, it appears as 100-0001, 101-0001, 102-0001, etc)
using this, I can save all the takes for each shot in a folder, then create a new folder for the next shot hitting reset, and just keep track of which shot is on each folder
the problem is that the files inside each folder have exactly the same names, and that will create confusion (on my head for sure, and maybe also on some edit programs)
the solution is to use an easy file renamer that would allow me to replace those "MVI_" for "scene1A_", folder by folder
or, even better, I could write a little program that does this at the same time as it copies the files to the PC... I think I'll try to do this with an excel macro first, then try to make it into a real program if anybody else is interested
New build (some focus tools and other cool extras): http://groups.google.com/group/ml-d.../f4c25f0acb10b16e?show_docid=f4c25f0acb10b16e
Figured this was as good a place as any to post these crop marks.
I created some 1.85:1 crop marks that I personally wanted, and also thought may be helpful to others that don't have them.
If there are problems with them, or if you think of improvements feel free to do them yourself or contact me.
Credit goes to the creator of the cinesco2, as I used that as a base configuration.View attachment 29648
BTW, thank you very much alex for all your hard work!!
omg this is cool.. I can use this,. i like to have videos and pictures in there own folder on the camera
as alex said, there's no focus peaking on 10x, because you shouldn't need it, and it would add very little
There is a crop mark repository http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/Cropmarks and in the vimeo group
as Kastro said, one you can montor audio via the AV jack, one you cannot. If you're using an external monitor, get the NoAudioMon build. I think that's really the only benefit to the NoAudio.im wondering which one to download. what would be the differences between the two files? i know one says AudioMon and the other says NoAudioMon. im sorry for such a dumb question.
