GH2 Lets See your Rigs!

The rig that I am using dosen't have a manufacturer name on it... So just find it as cheap as possible since they are all the same, no matter what the description sais...

The monitor is attached on a holder that has the standard "tripod screw" on each side. This can be adjusted in any direction with a screw on it, so you can pull it up and down if needed! The monitor with the holder then screws into to one of the screwholes in the rig.

@ ed_lee83--sorry i'll post some pics of the cage on its own once its complete and powdercoated.

here's the rig with my ENG set.: antonB battery, old fujinon lens with working servo zoom and rec start/stop on lens grip, old lilliput 7"...looking to get a dp4, anyone have experience with those on a gh2?

gsr400,

Do you mind to tell me what's the pinout on your connection for the lens?

I have a fujinon with the powerzoom would like to know more about your setup if you don't mind.

Thanks!

going to get a mini 2 inch rod and a cold shoe rod clamp, and a quarter inch cold shoe to flesh out mounting capabilities, i also still have a 3/8" thread tap on the baseplate i can utilize. might possibly upgrade to a cinevate baseplate in the future for even more mounting options.

also a custom eye cup i rigged to fit over the EVF, sooo much more comfortable and functional than the stock eyecup if you can even call it that.

How does the magic arm top handle work? Which baseplate is that? I've been thinking of the same type of concept as I'm looking for a top handle but don't want rails or a cage at this point.

Could you also shed some light on the EVF cup? I have been trying to adapt a zacuto cup to my EVF.

Stroh -what's that lens???

Looks like my old Pelang 8mm fisheye...
righteous is right on the money, tis a peleng 8mm f3.5

this magic arm is rated at 10 lbs, and is extremely sturdy, feels rock solid with no signs of looseness or play. the baseplate is a calumet manfrotto copy, for how much it cost it works very well and is also of great build quality. I dig the minimalist approach when it comes to cages/rigs, and this suits my shooting style just fine. the handle can be easily manipulated to different positions for many possibilities besides simply acting as a top handle. i do plan on getting some rails mounted eventually, i've got all the cold shoe mount stuff ordered and plan on investing in an LED panel soon.

the eye cup is actually one i took from an old hi-8 camera. I removed the stock panasonic eye cushion dealy and stretched this one over it. i had to trim some excess rubber to get it to seat nicely and securely, and to clean it up so there are no frayed edges visible.

further modification to my eyecup, easily removable so the LCD is accessible.

keeping it classic with a large DCR-VX1000 eyecup, all my coldshoe mount materials should be in soon, already have the clamp, just waiting on the mini rod and 1/4" mount.

So... I finally decided to get a rig. I've mostly stuck to either a tripod or the flycam, but a good rig fills a pretty large void that I couldn't ignore forever. So I decided to get a reasonably priced gini rig. Just came today, and is looking pretty barebones atm, but I do have a great gini follow focus that came with it, just waiting on some gears. Can't wait to get a real field monitor. I wasn't expecting the amazing build quality... this really feels like a solid well crafted rig. Pretty satisfied so far!

Put together a simple Jag35 rig + Zacuto EVF Pro + Zoom H4n over the weekend. No handheld work for me, so this is perfect!

Does anyone have any experience with the iDC System Zero, System One, or Rod System? The build quality looks good and I love how small and compact the System Zero looks. But would it hold a shotgun and monitor etc?

So why did you change it?
I did a quick video review of the Mod 3: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthrea...Modula-3-GH2-quick-look&p=2534461#post2534461

Sorry I missed your response, I traded it with a t2i and some glass to another dvx member for a camcorder setup I needed for a film I was doing at the time. I regret trading because I loved it, the only part I didn't care for was the shoulder block, but they have since changed it, and I wish I had that double shoulder mount, that thing is sweet! I anxious to try their new follow focus though.
