"Lesson in Life and Death" - A Day 7 Studios production

Added our makeup artist to the crew up front and another reminder that I put up some photos from our wardrobe check this weekend (they are a bit stylized, I was having fun with a new photo editor on my iPhone) :)

Slone, our actor playing Marshall Colton, has provided us with some beautiful outfits for this. As soon as the three guys put their clothes on I had a huge weight lift off my shoulders. I knew this would at least look good (now the pressure is on me to write some good dialog for these guys).

We are looking forward to the shoot, it should be a lot of fun. I love westerns!

Ryan had a conflict and won't be able to DP for us, but we were very fortunate to secure the equally talented Huy Vu (another great member here at the site) to step in and take over the project.

I've updated the front post to reflect the crew change and included a link to his excellent demo reel.

Mike, I have registered at DVXuser.com. I see some stills but no video. The posting I see is Life and Death, posted today at 10:30 a.m.

The films are still all in production, viewing won't begin until after the middle of July. Keep an eye on the main West Fest section and a thread will be posted with information on how to view them once they are ready to watch.

Finally finished the script (good thing since we are shooting this weekend) .. now out for review. Hopefully they don't think it stinks :kali:

Anxious to get this thing shot ... I think it's going to be my best work yet (I sure hope so).

Best of luck on the shoot... and good work getting the script done!
Looking forward to some WESTFest awesomeness.

Marlon - that script snippet I put up a couple days ago was just for fun. Not at all related to the actual script :) Actually someone e-mailed me a joke and when I saw it referenced a cowboy I decided to have a little fun and converted it to script format and threw it up as my "entry script".

But that said, I do think I have a great opening, just very different from what you saw in that little snippet.

Man, now I've been bamboozled for real! LOL! Well, I still can't wait to see what you guys have cooked up.

My composer thinks I should shoot it in addition to our real entry, while we have everyone there and in costume. Maybe I'll shoot it and make sure when you click my entry to view, you will see it instead of the real entry :D

@Brandon - Thanks, I'm glad to have you helping out as well.

I just put some pics up in Post #4 of a barn I just came across last night. The owner has graciously allowed us to shoot there. We have a few hurdles with the closeness of the power lines but I think we can work around them.

This is it ... tomorrow we shoot. I am as nervous as can be, I hope it all goes well.

I'm really happy with the script, the cast, the crew, the costumes, the props ... so as long as I don't screw things up, we should be good :)
