C100: Lanc Remote Compatibility

Are there any LANC remotes that allow focus control on autofocus lenses through the LANC port of the C100?

For anybody else that is researching this, I picked up a Manfrotto Pro Lanc Remote. It works. It puts the camera to sleep when you push the power button. Starts and stops recording. And uses the autofocus motor to allow a sort of manual focus with the rocker. I don't think I would use it for a rack focus as it is jerky when focusing quickly, but it does allow for slight changes in focus by only slightly pushing down the rocker. Extremely useful for crane or remote work.

I don't know. The remote I bought doesn't have the iris adjustment. Manfrotto has actually tested their remotes on the cinema series and posted the results: http://mediacdn.shopatron.com/media...der_Compatibility_Chart_v11_12.pdf?1354148977

I bought the mvr901ecla and not the more expensive one with the iris adjustment. The link above says that the you definitely can't adjust iris on the C300 and C500, but it's a little confusing about the c100. I also contacted varizoom and they said that their remotes should work as long as Canon has the functions built into the camera and the lens is new enough. When I contacted Canon about what they had programmed into the camera, the tech support said they didn't know and ignored a follow up email. Useless.

I should mention that I've tried it on a couple of different lenses and results can be concerning. The motor on a Sigma 20mm f/1.8 I had will continue to try to focus after it's reached the hard stops on the lens causing a grinding noise. Be careful.

Old thread here, but recently tested the Benro RM25X LANc handle and it doesn't work with the C100. Powers up and off, adjusts the focus, but no other function works on the C100. Neither on my old Sony Digital8 camera nor my Canon XF100. Either it's a faulty unit, or the programmation is not compatible.
That being said, glad I found this thread, so I know what to get now!

I have it. It doesn't.

Good to know. Thanks.

Anyone know if there's a controller that can activate the "One Shot AF" on the C100? Really, all I want is a one-button controller that duplicates what the "One Shot AF" button does on the camera without having to let go of the tripod handle. Any ideas?

^Has anyone bought this device? Too bad we aren't talking C100/II, the WiFi interface includes one-shot AF. Oh well...

I really don't understand why the left had can't push a button. I do this all the time on a monopod which is more difficult than on a tripod.

I currently use my left hand to push the One Touch AF button on my C100 with the right hand on the tripod handle. However, I can't do this while zooming, because I would have to let go of the lens in order to press the button. I just wish there was a way to activate One Touch AF on a button on the tripod handle. That's all I need.

We've never sold a single Canon RC-V100 remote probably due to the $1999 price tag.

Yes, price and the fact it doesn't compliment the in-built WiFi. Terry, what will become of these units? Discounted, I could be a buyer...

I'm not sure what Canon's plans are for the RC-V100 remote.

There might be some demand for the RC-V100 remotes that I'm unfamiliar with that's maintaining the price and demand.
