Kick-Ass

I saw this trailer recently, and it looks pretty good. Reminds me of the Columbus narration in Zombieland, and if they can pull off a similar feel, then this will truely Kick-Ass!

I noticed the "Plan B" in the end credits... that's Brad Pitt's production company.

Interesting...

Looks good. I say this especially because in addition to the concept and all the whiz-bang fun I thought the "kids" in the diner scene seemed really authentic / SMART. Unlike the kids in some movies *cough*Twlight / New Moon*cough*cough*.

I have followed this movie for a while, I expect it to do really well.

Marv Films has a lot of good projects in the works and could be the next Miramax in a few years.

What was that on Hulu? Btw, Hulu is for Americans only... so yeah...

I could rant about Hulu... but that would be pointless...

This is by the same writer and director of Stardust. Is stardust any good?

Whoa. I was all set to make fun of Stardust (which I have not seen but which looked incredibly cheesy in the trailer) but it has a rating of 7.9/10on IMDB and a rating of 3.9/5 on Netflix. Hmm.

I also followed production on Stardust, and get this, I have never seen it. Never paid attention to any reviews but just looked it up on tomatoes: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/stardust/

I don't think it did very well domestic but it did do pretty well overseas.

I forgot about that movie, I'm going to go buy it and watch it tonight so I'll let you know if it's any good.

I should check out stardust. I was kind of interested, and if the reviews are that good... or not bad for that matter...

I didn't like Stardust. It wasn't terrible, but it was one of those films that scrolled past my eyes without making much of an impression. I thought the fantasy world seemed kind of flimsy -- made of arbitrary rules and not much internal logic. It was just a...meh...kind of movie.

I think that's one of the reasons I didn't see Stardust, the production was very interesting, there's a sweet book about it at Borders but I'm not a big Fantasy type guy unless it's Iron Man or James Bond or something along those lines.

I wasn't too interested in Stardust at first only because it seemed like a movie aimed at either children or girls but the fact that Neil Gaiman had written the story made me interested. Gaiman and "Sandman" were hugely influential in terms of graphic novels, along the lines of Alan Moore's "Watchmen". I was pleasantly surprised and entertained by it. Not quite a Princess Bride but in that sort of genre I guess. Worth checking out.

I love the kick-ass comic but the trailer didn't do anything for me.

I believe that it's just a teaser so perhaps a longer/alternate version will be better.

I caught the trailer in the theater the other night and it gave me the same feeling I got the first time I saw THE HOST...which was awesome. Hope it's good.

Red band trailer. Something about this project is rubbing me the wrong way. I personally think if you get off on 11 year old girls committing graphic acts of violence there's something wrong with you, but that's just me--

I think that they should have found an older actress to play hit girl. I did like this trailer better than the initial one though.

Having a tween hitman doesn't work on film as it does in the comics.
