Two of the 4 jurors announced!

All 4 are confirmed, BTW. And I'm announcing in no particular order. I'm just torturing you. Someone told me this was a good way to build antici ...

I just talked to JDS and he told me these are the judges…

Uwe Boll
Lloyd Kaufman
Brett Ratner
James Nguyen (of BIRDEMIC fame)
Well these were the initial panel. But since you stold my thunder I fired them and got 4 new folks. Unfortunately I could not find anyone as suck-tacular as Boll though. :)

I'm guessing at least two will be film festival programmers, if not all of them.
Hmm. The rest of your speculation has proven accurate, so ... maybe.
Maybe one will be in the acquisition department somewhere.
DING DING DING DING! (basically) See 1st two announced jurors.
Nobody watches thousands of shorts a year unless it's part of their business model. Which means it could lead to some cool things, some exposure and some great feedback. I'm excited to know who they are!!
They are cool. And while I can't argue with you. These folks might watch that many short films even if they didn't have to for their jobs. Well OK maybe they'd just watch hundreds not thousands. But they likey the short films.

Since 4/1 is April Fools Day, I'll be sure to just check this thread on 4/2 for who they really are. :) Thanks for your work, Jack!

Well now, since the people I'm announcing are real (google 'em) they might not take too kindly if I made up that they were being jurors for us. We do like the idea of announcing their results on 4/1 just so the winners will always have an uneasy feeling ... "did that really happen?" We're sadistic like that. But you already knew this.

Very cool judges so far.

I subscribe to Wholphin and love the short films they showcase (I would of loved for Emily to have seen "Facade"). :(

Lol.
Troma and X are actual Park City festivals though.

Tromadance brings you, well, the kinds of things you would think Troma would bring you and X dance, if I understand correctly, is extreme sports filmmaking.

Okay, Jack, I'm impressed ... and since it's not April Fools Day (4/1), I'm even inclined to believe you! :) Looking forward to their review/feedback (if any) on THE INDISPENSABLE CHAUCER, and a HUGE thank you to you & the judges who have so graciously agreed to support the DVXuser Fest in this way!

Can I go ahead an announce this on the Facebook betrayalfest page?
You bet.

The only thing you have to be wary of is making it sound like Todd or Paul are representing Sundance or Slamdance. So make sure that you also mention that they are filmmakers and that Todd also programs for Cinevegas.

I think feedback will probably be like when you submit to festivals. If someone is blown away they may reach out and tell you so.

But the only thing you should expect is that your shorts (films I mean) are in the hands of well qualified professionals, and that you've gotten an audience with folks that people clamor for an audience with.

Nothing else should be implied or expected.

Except, of course, that three folks will get some kind of winners laurel, and each will win a book. :)
