T2i IS and resolution

Just 2 quicky questions....

Does having the IS turned on in any way affect the image resolution? (for stills OR video)

i.e. if I have the cam locked down on a tripod, should I be turning off the IS to make the picture better??


And....
What procedure is everyone using to white balance for video.
Take a pic of a foam core board and use this to custom WB in video mode???

I just select the white balance preset that I need from the choices it gives in the white balance options.

The IS does not effect resolution at all. However, when locked on a tripod, if left on, it can "over compensite" from the tiniest vibration and cause shudder that is unnecessary. So I always turn it off on a tripod unless I'm outdoor in windy conditions.

As for custom white balance, I bought a small packet of 18% gray cards on eBay for $4 shipped and just use those.
