I'm so tempted....

Exactly. When the time comes, and you need the help pay the rental and cast/crew expenses - then sell the canon and your home...

Film's not dead yet... check out this Fuji demo (saw it on reduser)
http://vimeo.com/15153019

Here it is in HD, and if you scroll down, there is a scene by scene breakdown of lighting and lenses used:

Of course, these are beautifully shot and these three cinematographers could should on iPhones and it'd still look incredible... but those outdoors shots look simply amazing. I haven't really seen digital look that good with a shot of the sun in the sky. Also the indoor shot of the girl in the theater, with the highlight moving on her face.

BBC HD wont allow super 16m they say its not good enough now , they are right used properly HDSLRs are better.

Pretty cool way to blow $4k

haha thought EXACTLY that while watching

Well that sound pretty stupid. This new underwater movie shot on 35mm though... that's 'effin epic... just to actually choose to undertake that

500 asa film can handle lowlight better than any digital camera, no matter what artificial lowlight levels it claims

Buy a Nikon D3s and prepare to pick up your jaw from the floor
