The camera is cheap but all the rest is more expensive.
The japanese model is ntsc. Also if you keep the box scealed you will save another 5% on the sales tax. I resealed mine the best i could and they did not even check for it at the japanese customs.

I'd concur with Pierre, I got some P2 cards from system5 a couple of months ago and they came over as very professional. The items weren't in stock but they had them ordered in for the next morning for me to pick up. Their English is good (if thats an issues!) and from my records the prices were very competative.

With regards the sales tax all I had to do was fill in a form which basically said that the items were for personal use and that I would be taking them out of the country. I then had to show my passport. I was abe to open the pacages and use the P2 cards for the rest of my trip. I handed in the form that I got from system5 at the customs point in the airport.... so all in all no problems, I slick, easy, money saving experience! :)

Thats pretty much identical to what I can get it for with out my own distribution license and just good contacts... Is there any way to have Japanese or Chinese products shipped directly to the states and ordered online, safely?
 
The ones that ship internationally charge more. So its not really worth it. If you buy it in japan you get a japanese warrenty. So its not for the faint of heart.
 
I went to System5 on Saturday. The shop looks quite nice. They got lots of stuff. In general they are not so cheap, as said before. But for some things they are quite cheap. If you are looking for something special, just check out their website for prices. You can also buy used stuff over there.

P2 cards are not available right now. I bought the last 16GB card and they dont expect any new in the next two months.

Yeah the market dried up totally. They are stocking them pretty much only for HPX sales at the moment.

When I droppped by at the shop, I didnt want to buy a card. Then they told me that it is the last card for at least 2 months --> immediately went to the bank and got some money =)

In order to use my new toy, I actually need to buy the HVX soon. ^^
 
I dont know what the pal version costs here in japan. ncje said it is possible to buy it here and we havent met yet. Do you actually know where to buy it Noel? And how much it costs?
