HVX scene file editor program

Hi guys - I've been keeping busy since March when I quit my job and went freelance and became a father so I've had to prioritize my time in other directions than the further development of P2 Genie and the scene file editor, but hopefully I'll be getting some more time to get the next version of P2 Genie for Windows out and the Scene File Editor to all of you who are waiting for it. It will be very sweet - just wait and see :)

Yup, I'm digging this one back up....

Hey Tony - any updates on this project?
I know I for one could still use a scene file editor, and I assume I'm not alone.
:)

Tony...hope you are fine...!

Its not just about the Scene file editor...even more interesting seems to be a update on P2 genie....that would be a sweet christmas gift....but please before Christmas 2008...!

Good luck Tony...i heard about the problems with the 16/32GB...hope this can be solved..!??

Unless this program can give you a graphic preview of what your settings look like, it probably won't be terribly useful.

Hi guys. I sent out an alpha of this application and got absolutely no feedback from anyone, so I figured I'd leave it alone. The update for P2 Genie is still in the works. The support for Windows Vista has been on everybody's wish list but meant that I had to change the whole development environment. That also meant developing everything from scratch - which is taking it's time. I can't give you any exact release-dates as I need to figure out when I can take a week out of my schedule to get this done. I'm selfemployed so I need to find a week that won't "hit" me too hard.

Why not just put it up on the web? We're talking about 1k files so it's not like it has to be handled locally.
I'll keep studying my asp.net and see if I can do it.

If you're still interested in feedback, I'd welcome the opportunity to check out the alpha release and give you feedback.

On the other hand, if you're not interested in feedback, then I'd still welcome the opportunity to check out the alpha release.

Sorry to hear that,
i must admit that i was one of those who received the alpha, but never had the time to figure it out...shame on me...i got a 1000 excuses for that..but ill leave it like that..!

Its a pitty that absolutely NOBODY gave you a feedback, i do agree with the others that you should send it to others again, i am sure you will get feedback that time..!

Its good to hear that you keep on working with P2 genie, i am really looking forward to see it...its always a great help and good feeling specially in the field...i remember that i had a friend working in the field a couple of weeks ago with a Vista computer....i dont have to mention that he felt shaky copying this very imprtant footage without P2 genie..!

The Vista-compatibility is great, although i prefer to stay with XP this time..does that mean that the update will work with Vista only..?!

Good luck and some really relaxing days for you and your little family in denmark...i know what it means to be your "own boss" and work all year to make a business...!

Thanks for that, Germanboy :)

I'll think about finishing up on the Scene File Editor and post in this thread if and when.

P2 Genie version 2 will support both Windows XP and Vista :)

I Will give feed back-

I Will give feed back-

If you're still interested in feedback, I'd welcome the opportunity to check out the alpha release and give you feedback.

Apparently you sent it to the wrong people then- I know that both Luis and I would test it out and give you all of the feed back that you need.

By the way- I'm on a mac- I do not know if that makes any difference or not.

Sorry but i am to lazy to search, so if this has been said just discount it.

It would be nifty is someone could create a Palm application that for the scene file editor.
when i am out on a shoot with out a laptop and i need the frame rate hack i use the 'Documents to go application' to edit the scene file text files from my palm treo. It would be nice to have some thing a little more streamed lined, but alas i have no programming skills so ii can't create the application myself.

wow, that is a good idea. I already run pCam and pCine in the field all the time. I haven't done any programming for the PalmOS but I'll see who I can get in touch with.
I still think that programming this for PC or Mac isn't the way to go, it should be a web-based program.

I'll look into porting the application to WinCE / Windows Portable. A version for Palm would have to come from someone else as I have no developing experience for Palm.
