Hi Everyone,
Just so you know, your collective footage convinced us here at Bose Asia Pacific to grab the new HVX202EN for our Production operations on the Gold Coast in Australia - your footage and a pretty impressive demo by Barry Green in Brisbane recently. Couple of teething problems I'd like some help with - I'm sure there's an answer somewhere.
1./ A number of people have reported the same problem on these forums but I'm not having any luck with the suggested solutions. FinalCut Pro 5.0.4 recognises the clips on the camera, but gives that infamous "One or more P2 clips failed to import; probable incomplete or corrupt files." I tried copying all the files using the P2 Hard Drive PCS060, then importing the files off that - same problem. OK no luck there - let's try P2 Log. I get one step further here - it recognises the clips ( albeit only the first one in the demo version ) and I get a pretty thumbnail. I go to play my clip and it looks like this:
The files play back perfectly on the camera.
2./ I tried to then take the P2 cards and read them onto my G4 Powerbook. Figured I might have some luck there. The Powerbook acknowledges a card is plugged in but doesn't bring up an icon on the screen and won't allow me access to the Card. I've tried the switching between Write PRotect ON/OFF. Doesn't make a difference.
3./ It's probably in the manual but while I'm here I'll ask. I took a sunset timelapse shot last night in "Interval" mode at a rate of one shot every 10 seconds. Got about 7 second of footage. Now when I go to thumbnail preview it has a red box around it and I can't play back the file on the camera - is there something special I have to do here? I will go research some more.
So needless to say I have all this footage I'd love to take a squiz at on my FCP setup but I can't.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
