Hasn't it already been given away in the press release ? I.e., when shooting 16:9 the image will appear letterboxed in the viewfinder and the technical info (or most of it anyway) will be displayed within the letterbox areas so as to avoid cluttering the image ?
Regarding the viewfinder, yes. I hadn't seen that in the press release.

It's just such a minor thing to do, but it's absolutely brilliant. It's one of those things that nobody ever bothered to do, and now nobody should ever do otherwise.

I agree, of course, that picture quality comes first. However, looks do matter too, and designing a cool/rugged cam with no tentatively "cute" aesthetics sounds a damn sight less difficult than everything Panny has achieved on the technical side.

You have a good point Reservoir. You also have to admit that all of us are camera dorks and nerds. Especially our fascination/obsession with this camera. (insert acne faced smiley with taped glasses.)

So what if she looks a little boxy, she made the kessel run in three parsecs. She may not look like much...

Yeah, they should put horns on the front of it like a bull, mount a 8 cylinder engine to the side and maybe a gun rack that attaches to the back.

Naw. Just some scales and I'll be happy.

It needs snarling teeth too.

Naah, it's got those already (in the spec sheet).

I'm... say, 75 percent happy, whereas I expected to be 110 percent.

Still, it's 4 in the morning here and I don't feel like going to bed... :o)

OK Barry, what were you really doing out in the desert the last few weeks. You have had your mitts on this thing for awhile and have been pulling us along. You and Jarred are in on this who dang secret aren't ya. Why would you do this to your friends, your family ;)

I think it looks like a.....

It's too bad we couldn't get the looks and functionality of the JVC HD100 with it's lens options and the recording format and features of the HVX 200. Now I have a tough decision ahead. I really don't want to mess with HDV...

I can't believe how many superficial whiners we have here. This camera is a work of art!

From the inside, it certainly is. From the outside, as we know well, one's perception of art can be highly subjective...

No, the desert gig was a zombie film for a friend of mine, and it was shot on my DVX...

My mitts have been HVX-free so far.
