Hi everyone, we finally finished working on the short film HUNTED (sigh of relief). This is a VIP (lol) invitation to all the dvxers who reside close to the Miami FL area or will be in the area for that period of time :)

The Premiere will be on March 19th, 6:30 pm. The theater seats 240 people but hurry up and RSVP to get decent seats. Here is the invitation:

I think I've seen this movie...:)

This was shot on the DVX? The shooting looks amazing to me. Absolutely amazing.

Now I'm gonna say one thing that will probably piss you off, but:

LOSE THE SLO-MO ARROW!!!!! It has been done to death, and it really isn't that cool anyway. Do yourself a favor and get rid of it. But that's my two cents.

But the filmmaking looks outstanding. I would love to hear about settings, lighting, etc.
 
Thanks for the compliment, yes it was shot on the DVX. You mean to say you saw the trailer, cuz the movie has not been released yet. About the arrow, I mean everyone is entitled to their own opinion, you are the first person to not like it but I see your point. I guess you would have to see the entire scene to really appreciate it. There is more to the scene than what you see in the trailer.
About the settings, I did discussed that in a previous post just look up HUNTED :)
 
damn, I wish I lived in Miami. I want to be VIP! haha. I still have the older trailer saved. Good stuff!

edit: ah, it's the same trailer. my bad. Still great though! I really want to see it.

I like the arrow and visually it' looks pretty sweet. I look forward to seeing a dvd sometime in the future.

Was my advice, a while back, concidered when you re CC'ed it? :)
 
I can't wait to see this movie , but I did have a question a friend of mine told me that the arrow's side shouldn't open until they hit a target, Is this true ?

Lawsuit and Nick: we are working on a DVD as we speak it has lots of cool stuff I'm trying to breakdown everything we did and how it was done on the DVD.

Papa, yes your CC's were VERY helpful. Actually what you are seeing in the trailer is not the final CC but it is close to it. I don't remember if it was you or someone else, but some one had this dark blue-violet CC that I was going to use, but changed @ the last minute :) I decided to go with the dark saturated greens instead.
SilverWolf: OOOPS, you caught me! LOL its true, the arrow head opens when it hits the target, but where is the fun in that? lol
 
I would like to know about the final part in your trailer where the girl falls--

What mode was that shot in? I notice that in certain parts, the action looks staggered. I like that look a lot, but I can't seem to figure out how it's achieved.

Is that 24p or something else?
 
Hi Kholi, to achieve this look you have increase the shutter speed. Ofcourse when you do that, you will have to increase the ammount of light that is hitting the subject. The higher the shutter speed the more of this "staggered" look you will get. The 24P also helps. I hope this helps

Funny thing is, I thought that's how you would do it... but for some reason I make things out to be harder than they really are.

Definitely have to expirement with that. I love that look.

Silverwolf, I'm not sure about an interview, but she will be featured in LOTS of bloopers and stuff. Maybe we'll throw in an interview, why not!
 
That invitation should be the cover of your DVD...that looks awesome!

I'm getting the trailer right now...I think I"ve seen it before, though.
 
can find past setting whats the settinging u used moe what program u used for CC gime the truth and nothin but the truth the whole sha bang , oh and yea like the trailer arrow is coooooooooool u go boy u man moe
