HUNTED - Premiere

So was that shot in 24P? And will 24P look the same on a TV screen as it does when you shoot it? And one more thing, how many grapes do you think I could fit in my mouth, or Hersheys kisses?

nice job Moe....that's the kind of project I would like to take on next. ....I like the "real" intensity you captured......going from frantic to smooth shots looks great.

Curious to your approach on the arrow.....I see after your cut from the shooter profile shot it seems your either doing a quick dolly back and then a whip pan around.....or maybe a glidecam moving away from the shooter and a whip pan around. .....or maybe a slow pan? .....it's hard to tell it's such a quick sequence!!

I would love to know how you planned that shot and what was involved if your open to discussing it. I thought overall your work looked very pro and tasteful.

Thanks, you will also see that inensity and change of pace through out the movie. As for the arrow sense, it was shot on the steady cam one smooth motion I backed out first and slowly rotated the camera and started going forward It took me about 10 takes to get a smooth one, boy that gear was getting heavier and heavier by the minute! Ofcourse it was much slower than what you see in the final cut we speed up certain parts so you get that fast-slow-fast motion. Hope this helps :)

Hmmm, donno maybe 100?

Just wanted to say that was a GREAT trailer! The colors are so vibrant. I like the arrow effect, even though there was a comment about it being overused. Will be interested to see the dvd you mentioned, i.e., with info about production, etc. It always amazes me what can be done with a not very expensive camera. I guess that's where the skill comes in (experience, knowledge, etc.). Great job!!!

Thanks for the compliment :) It is amazing what you can do these days with a small budget mine was about $6000 - $7000 (I still need to do the math to have the exact number). I'll keep you posted on the DVD

Hi Mark, i don't have the exact breakdown, but I can tell you that we rented the property we shot at, also rented some equipment (steady cam, reflectors, mirror, lights for indoors shots), then I had to buy some stuff, like the dolly and the crane and then money for post like Music, sound design and visual effects. I own the dvx so it ws not included and my friend owns another one that we also used, but I did rent two anamorphic lenses, filters and two lightboxes

hey moe u use the anamorphic adapater correct ? and if so did this help with u getting ur great picture quality cause i think it properly the best i seen so far of what i seen so far on the site using the dvx, and did u use a dvx 100a or a b ?

peace n luv

OOOPS, Sorry guys I guess exceeded my bandwidth :( I'll upload to another server and post the link later today :)

I previously posted and commented on how good the trailer looks, especially how vibrant the colors are. Did you have to do a lot of color correction in post or were your camera settings sufficient to alleviate a lot of correction? Also, what (if any) filters did you use and were they screwed on the end of the camera or did you use a matte box?

Finally, you mentioned you bought a crane and dolly, and rented a steadicam. Do you mind telling what products you went with? There's a lot of discussion on dvxuser about cranes, dollys, and stabilizers. I'd like to hear from you on this, since you're producing such high quality productions. :)

I'm curious about the anamorphic adapter, too. Is it worth the bucks? If you want 16:9 output is using the adapter better than shooting 4:3 and applying a 16:9 matte in post?

BTW, I've seen all the posts and want to thank you for taking time to give feedback. I'm sure you're busy working on your feature.
