MY MODEST PROPOSAL FOR SAVING BANDWIDTH ON THIS FORUM:
As anyone who has been on this forum for more than a few weeks knows, we keep seeing the same gripes about the Panasonic HVX-200 over and over. While I don't want to rain on anyone's free speech, we could save a lot of bandwidth if the gripes that get repeated over and over and over and over and over are reduced to a simple code.
The code is broken into two parts: AA-bb where AA- is the main heading of the gripe and the -bb is the subheading for the gripe. This will make it easy for anyone to see which argument is being thrown out AGAIN for the 47,924th time.

P2 CARD GRIPES: 2-xx
2-1 P2 is SO expensive.
2-2 The time is SO limited.
2-3 ...But you can purchase other memory cards for less money.
2-4 Memory Sizes will NEVER get any larger.
2-5 If you erase the file your video is gone.
2-6 It will never work.
2-7 It's too much trouble to work with.
2-8 You can't use the card as a floatation device.
2-9 The cards don't have a built-in MP3 player.

HVX-200 CAMERA GRIPES: 3-xx
3-1 You can't record in HDV.
3-2 If you crank the gain to +18dB, the image looks noisy.
3-3 It doesn't perform like a 2/3" camera.
3-4 The lens is on a fixed mount.
3-5 It won't shoot any images with the lens cap on.
3-6 It looks like it needs to go on a diet.
3-7 It won't work as a clock radio.
3-8 It has too many options.
3-9 It doesn't have enough options.

GENERAL PANASONIC COMPANY GRIPES: 4-xx
4-1 It's OK that JVC does not release the low light specification and Canon won't say how they do the 24F, BUT Panasonic is trying to hide something from us when they won't tell us the native CCD Resolution.
4-2 Panasonic is trying to hide something from us when they won't say what the sales figures are, but it's OK that Sony, JVC, and Canon never give out that information.
4-3 When do I get MY camera???????
4-4 ...And we all know that Panasonic is driven by the Dark Side of the Force.
4-5 Panasonic is trying to hide something from us by NOT posting the PDF of the User Manuel... Oh wait, never mind...

IMAGE QUALITY GRIPES: 5-xx
5-1 The Canon has a higher resolution than the Panasonic and that's the ONLY parameter to judge a good quality image.
5-2 It has Noise in the image and NO other 1/3" CCD HD Camera has this problem, does it?
5-3 We all know that lenses and CCDs have NO impact on resolution, therefor the Sony's 1440x1080 4:2:0 HAS to be sharper than the Panasonic's 1280x1080 4:2:2.
5-4 The (highly compressed and recompressed) images in other file formats suck; therefor the camera must suck.

PERSONAL ATTACKS: 6-xx
6-1 ... And we all know that Jan works for the Dark Lord or "He who must not be named".
6-2 While Barry has had a chance to test every camera, he can't possibly be an unbiased source, like me.
6-3 Judging from Bob's last post, he MUST have been on some REALLY POWERFUL drugs.
