C300: How make a suggestion to Canon re: switching between slowmo and regular shooting

I know there's a quite a lot of C300II forum discussions that Canon ought to be paying attention to (like the jogwheel press-in for function, 4k@60p....), but can someone tell me how to go about contacting Canon Cinema to make suggestions? And is there a chance they'll listen?

My main gripe is that switching from regular shooting to slow-motion and back causes resolution, color settings, and shutter to change... every time. It's slow as molasses to go through the checklist of changes each time you want to switch to shoot a slow mo clip and then back. I know others have suggested it on this forum, but here goes: could we convince Canon to implement a Camera Setting shortcut, so we can save current settings as Camera 1, and then 60p settings as Camera 2, and then S&F Crop 120fps as Camera 3? And so on.

I've tried doing this by saving menu to in-camera and to the SD card, to see if I could at least have two shortcut camera settings, but it not only restarts the camera, it also does not maintain shutter speed/angle.

The new firmware is supposed to help maintain resolution/color settings (to the best of its ability), but it doesn't if you're shooting RGB 12bit 444. After switching back to 24ps, it defaults to 10bit again, and worse, the shutter angle refuses to maintain its 180 angle throughout the framerate changes, even when resolution and color settings are the same in both framerates. Even the C100 could do maintain the shutter speed/angle between framerate changes.

Anyway, does anyone know what the best way to contact Canon Cinema to make suggestions for the next firmware update?

Thanks,
Slavik

Switching to overcrank shooting with the C300 is one of the clumsiest operations. it should be a one button press and then dial a frame rate, or a one step in the menu that can be a short cut to get into slow and fast mode. The shutter angle -frame rate relationship should remain constant when switching from normal recording to slow and fast. So if you are shooting 23.98 1/48 shutter, switching into slow and fast and shooting 48 fps should put the frame rate at 1/96, not leave it at 1/48.!
Canon Are you listening???

Switching to slo-mo on the Varicam LT is an even clumsier operation requiring a reboot and waiting a long time for the camera to turn back on. Super quick on the Amira from what I've gathered.

The fact that it automatically adjusts the shutter speed/angle to maintain exposure is the dumbest thing ever for a pro level camera. As if changing frame rates on the c300 1 wasn't annoying enough.

I've posted this many times.....Canon has quite a few people, both in NY and Japan that view these blogs every day. Just by posting what you have, they will read it and it will make it to the right people in Japan. I know this because they have told me many times that they are aware of the things people would like on the camera(s). I'm friends with the head of the design team and he always knows what is being posted. Canon generally will not put out a 1 or 2 item update unless it is a real problem involving the cameras' ability to function (chip defect, recording defect, etc). They just put out a large update for the C300 MK II and the C100 MK II and I'm sure they are already working on the next one....but it does take time.....and they will also look at what you have suggested and see if they can add it.

This is something I mention every single time I'm at Canon Hollywood, even if it's the same person I see each time. The reps are well aware of the problem. Let's hope it eventually gets fixed.

John, now you've become the de facto Canon point man.

"John, I don't like the button layout. Tell Canon".

"John, that C500 MKII is overpriced by ten grand. Tell Canon".

"Tell Canon. Tell Canon. Tell Canon".

OMG this is horrible. Had to deal with this on a run and gun shoot, and was so frustrated.
