Hot Property - Dangerous Derk Productions

*Spoilers*

I liked the two twist. The first when the two thieves meet each other, more of a comedic moment, made me laugh. I liked the twist at the end. The third robber. This however is not a "thriller" but a "heist" short film. No suspense, didn't feel any tension. I think if you added more comedy to it this could really be a funny comedy heist.

Fun, but not as good as your other entry. I did laugh at the moment when the thief climbs the ladder to open the window, when the one next to it looks like it was already open. I did enjoy the twist at the end. I don't think you were going for comedy, but the argument did come off as funny. In a short it's important to maintain the appropriate tone. Good job overall.

I laughed and enjoyed the film because I did. Nice videography. I do agree about not feeling like a thriller. Also, the scene where he was checking out the door at the beginning didn't draw as much suspicion as it could have. The ending didn't have as true of a feel (ropes looked loose).

Enjoyed this one.

Im with Charli on this one. It was fun, and I liked the terms you used. Very simple lighting that was effective, apart from that hall light that blinded me. Didnt see the thriller in this one like others, but my sentiments are the same. Enjoyed it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Picking up some very useful critique here, must enter more future FVX fests :)

Well filmed, decent actors and the setup was interesting. Overall I liked the comedic twist at the end, but it took it out of thriller territory for me.

Editing killed this one for me. It was slow and plodding and while it showed us every step he was taking... did we REALLY have to see every single step unless it was important.? Pacing was way off and instead of me being in suspense I was just waiting for something to happen already. It felt much longer than it could have been and you could quite easily have cut out a minute.

Good effort.

I wished the film began at night, maybe with a broken window punching us into the lonely darkness of the 'empty' house. I think that might have toned down the comedy for me. My house has been broken into before, and it is an extremely frightening concept that strips one of all privacy. I also thought that the film could have been more effective with only ONE other robber and a hair-rising moment to introduce the other character. Such a jump might have been enough to frighten away robber #1 (and scare the crap out of us) and lead us into the 'reveal' shot. Clever ending, but I did feel that it was more comedic than thriller.

Yep I think i actually enjoyed this film a little more than A Short Story - i enjoyed the comedic elements - (its utterly camp... luuuuverly) this is the britcamp sold for the benefit of our American cousins hehe ;) Its hilarious good fun and while it isnt particularly scary as a thriller, it is an enjoyable romp for me!

Loved it! I suppose in terms of pacing, it is a bit slow while our main burglar gets to burgling. You could have sped that up a bit. From my experience (having slept through our house being burgled - yes, INCREDIBLY creepy experience), thieves are typically in and out. That could have worked for you, having the thief tear through the house. But the double twist at the end was fun. And I liked that you kept it fun (the third burglar didn't kill the homeowners, for example). My favorite so far.
