HorrorFest Upload instructions & Submission Status

Ok, guys. I will be getting up at 7am my time (9am eastern, 8am central, 6am pacific). Anything in my inbox before then, we will screen for approval.

List is updated with all known submitted entries. If you have submitted a film, and don't see your name on the list, please send me a pm immediately.

Thanks.

Happy B-Day! What a lovely bunch of presents to sort through. :-P Thanks for making this happen, Jason.

A note on accepting (or not) films for exhibition.

In the past, we have generally always accepted films for exhibition under two conditions:
1. The film was made specifically for this fest, and a good faith effort to abide by the rules for submission was made.
2. A film did not have any known copyright violations.

In other words, we will typically allow films to still screen as exhibition only (non-compete) entries if they were made for the fest, and if their reason for being ineligible for competition was *not* copyright related.

I just wanted to provide that explanation for 2 films that we (unfortunately) will not be able to screen in the fest. Both of the films in question were not shot for this fest. We welcome you to post your films in the "User Films" section of the site, and encourage everyone to check it out. It just won't be able to be included in the playlist of festival films, since it wasn't made for this fest. Sorry for any disappointment.

That said, the approval process for all competing submissions is complete. Jack Daniel Stanley is submitting for consideration as an exhibition only entry, but he will be a little late to the party (films will go live, before he is finished, so keep an eye out after the fest opens). Brandon Rice is the only other exhibition submission at this time.

If you were working on a film for the fest, and didn't get it done in time... If you finish it up and provide me with a link any time during the festival window, I will consider it for exhibition. If it is accepted as exhibition, I will add it to the official HorrorFest II Youtube playlist. That way you can still take part in the fest, and receive feedback on your work from your peers, but you will be ineligible for physical prizes.

Need to hammer out a few other things, and (if there are no objections) I may send the films live a little early (some time tonight). Once the youtube playlist goes public, you are free to change the privacy status of your film from "Unlisted" to "Public", or you can leave it as "unlisted". You will also be free to embed/link your film on dvxuser, and on other websites that you participate in. I will also try to make a master thread with each film embedded, and links to their respective film threads. NOTE: You may *NOT* change the privacy status, or publicly share your film until the playlist becomes public.
